I don't know how true this is or if the dealer is trying to make much0 cash off my car but, is there a big difference between the shinka back bumper and the oem on other 8s? He said has to get it from Japan?

I don't really care where he gets it from or how much it costs, insurance, I just want my Shinka back...

Anyone know this to be fact or fiction?

Possibly if its prepainted but why the hell can't they just order a unpainted one and paint it at their bodyshop?!?! I call B.S. and that your dealer is lazy and dont want to paint it themselves.

BS I had my spoiler painted by the dealer and it matches my shinka exactly. The part is exactly the same as any other 8 so he should be able to order one and have it painted.

Def. BS. There's no structural diff. between shinka & other models. It's paint/interior/suspension options that are different.

But, Stew - What the hell are you thinking allowing your dealer to do the body work repair????

Don't do it man!! Do you really have no better options for body work? dddaayyumm.

Tell the dealer to give you cash for the value of the bumper, and let them put Shinka213's on your 8. At least you get some extra cash. (or maybe let them charge the cost of a new bumper to Mazda, and you pay no deductible??)

Estimate was 6500$ of damage on the hit and run... I'm not in the mood to wait any longer to get my 8 back. I'm willing to pay the deductible and try to find the Vagina that ran into my car and beat their ***, I have got some leads...

They all came from Japan, actually the MS kit I got still has the original Japanese shipping box.

but if you're talking about the paint, thats complete bullshit.

Cuz The shop paint my stuff and it perfectly matched the color of my black cherry Shinka.

Regarding the bumper. All from Japan. Fine. But, was the dealer trying to make that sound special and extra expensive?

Accept no shenanigans: My BC Shinka was rear ended and the bumper was replaced with no problems or crying that it was "special."

And this is why he should consider another shop. Why these guys have to whine like beauty queens about doing their farking jobs is beyond me. I've been to 2 (maybe three now) dealer shops where the service manager and techs treated me like a customer, like someone they give a rat's about - they didn't kiss my ***, but when I had questions they answered them and when I had problems they took care of them. Sometimes I paid, sometimes the manufacturer paid. But who cares either way the shop GOT paid. Why do these asshats not get it that we can go to another shop and have our car serviced????? In one place I lived I refused to go to the Audi shop and the independent shop got all my business plus a bunch I referred to them.
