OEM Spoiler
So, I got my spoiler installed today. Like the look of it, but I have a question.
Is there supposed to be what looks like almost foam or something between the trunk lid and the spoiler?
Does anyway have a closeup picture of how the spoiler mates up to the trunk? I just spent sometime looking through pictures and I can't tell on them if it's supposed to be there or not. Kind of worried, because I think it looks odd. I asked them when I saw it and they said that's how they were.
I don't know. After the light issue I'm having, I'm starting not to trust anything they say.

I don't see anything in the instructions that would leave a gasket between the spoiler and the lid. Maybe they left the template in place?

Thanks for the pic. That's not what I'm seeing.

^Yeah that just looks like the foam that helps the spoiler stay sealed to the car so nothing gets inbetween it. I bought it used and just used some blue, 2 sided thick tape and put it around the edges. Yours is a bit more noticable than mine, but it should go down over time. So nothing to worry about.

Honestly, I'm not even sure which ones you are talking about or where to find the bolts. I haven't looked at them. The spoiler feels tight.

I almost wish there was something in there (maybe there is) cause when I had the stock spoiler removed to put on the MS wing, there was some scratches because the stock one was so tightly on it left some small grooves that aren't covered by the new wing. Barely noticeable though so no biggie.

Now, I am really confused. Everyone is talking about bolts, yet my install has two gold phillips head screws on both sides holding it down.
I have no idea WTF is going on now, but I'm starting to get pretty upset here.
Could someone please show me what it's supposed to look like in the trunk? I would REALLY appreciate it.

I installed my OEM spoiler myself. I'm EXTREMELY precise when doing things like this and sure as hell wasn't going to let some incompetent fool drill into my new car.
In the picture you've posted, it looks like the spoiler was mounted a little too far back (closer to rear of car) than the template designates. That's why you're seeing more of the seal than you should be. As the trunk gets closer to the edge of the trunk, the arc radius increases... that's why the template leaves a good 5/8" between the spoiler and the edge of the trunk. I thought this 5/8" was excessive and was able to shift the spoiler template back (towards the rear) about 1/8". This was as close as you can get it to the rear without leaving a vertical gap between the spoiler and the trunk. There is still close to 1/2" between the spoiler and the edge of the trunk. The seal is perfectly even and the holes mounted up 100% on the mark. I didn't even need to drill out the the holes to 10 mm... I was able to stop at 8 mm and still line up exactly.
Also worth note... those fastener clips that require you to drill (2) additional holes... those are removable. There are (2) philips head screws holding those in place. I took them out because I see absolutely no justifiable reason to drill more holes.
Sorry for the long read. I just thought I'd provide my experience in case the next guy has any questions.
To the original poster, can you get some better pictures? Maybe looking down to see what the distance is between the spoiler/edge of trunk? Try stepping back a few feet with a high res camera so the picture comes out better.
If the installer didn't follow the mounting template, you have a case. You'll be able to remove the spoiler, lay another template over the trunk and see if they followed instructions.
