Thumbs up from nyc to montreal

drove 400 miles to montreal over the weekend. Did an average of 80-100mph (mostly 80) and got 270miles out of 13.7 gallons. This was my first long trip with the car and it felt great. I wasn't tired at all after doing 4 straight hours of driving before refueling.

On the way back, driving through a rain storm... the stock potenza's were excellent... especially topping out at 110mph on miles of straightaways on the interstate. They didn't feel "skittish" at all.

wish mileage was better, though.

On mazda.com the rx8 page has the gull to say "great in the corners and easy on gas" or something like that.

What are they comparing it to? NASA's Discovery shuttle?

it's definitely possible to get 24 mpg on highway driving. but who the hell drives the actual posted speed limit? even old ladies do an average of 80-85mph on i87.

btw, it's scary how soon the gas light comes on when the tank has 3-4 gallons of fuel left in it. There were spots out in the country where the next gas station were 50 miles away I was worried as hell as the gas needle was on E. After finally filling up, i had 2 gallons of gas left.

i wonder if the girls there aspire to be strippers when they grow up. it seems that there aren't many attractive locals there except the ones on the pole... and half of them come from around the world. I honestly do not know what's so special about montreal except for the weak french influence and the hot strip clubs.

I was in Montreal 3 weeks, or maybe 2 weeks ago. Are there any attractive women, that don't smoke? Every girl I talked to whipped out a cigarette as if trying to impress me with her Audrey Hepburn, Breakfast at Tiffany's poses. I mostly did this
