Noah Wolf Car Cover....buyer's remorse.

I'm sure the cover is great. It sure looks nice all folded up in that big bulky roll they ship it in.

I've never opened it.

I have buyer's remorse. Why? Well, because I bought it out of new-owner's panic. It's the same syndrome many dealers are keenly aware of and capitalize on with their specialized treatments and sealants (thankfully I didn't fall for those).

The cover costs $180. Ouch. I wash my 8 every week, and it's garaged all day for work in a city parking garage. It's sun/weather exposure is limited to early morning and evening and weekends.

So far, I'm thinking..."What was the point?". I wash the car often enough to make pollen or other finish-eating pollutants a relatively minor concern. It's garaged during the hot midday sun 5 out of 7 days of the week.

I haven't even bothered to unroll the cover to figure out how to put it on, much less make sure it's "custom construction" for the RX-8 even fits.

I doubt I can get my money back.

Someone want to tell me a few things:

1) How long does it take to put it on and take it off?
2) Do you do it every time you go out/come back?
3) Any daily drivers (like me) with the car actually go through this routine?
4) How it is I can view this other than a waste of $180?

Sell it on ebay and recover 80% your purchase price. I unfortunately have done similar things.

is it the evolution 4 (technalon) noah cover? I'm wanting to buy one because my neighbor's F'ing cat likes to walk on my car. He's scratched it before, but the technalon has 4 layers and can prevent animal scratches. I can buy what I'm looking for brand new for $120 at pep boy's. If you want to undercut them, PM me. Man, if I were you I wouldn't sweat it. If you ever get stuck somewhere when it begins to hail, whip that thing onto your car and it'll help prevent dings. It'd be nice to have. Or you could always sell it.

have the same cover. i love it .. after you get the hang of it it takes about 1.5 min to put on and 2 to take off.

i use it all the time. if i am going to wash the car the next day i dont put it on, but in pollen season. on every night.

swoope, you put it on after driving home from work, and take it off first thing in the morning before going in?

I'm not sure I have the willpower to add that routine to my daily set...

it really is not bad at all after you perfect the folding sequence. and right now the garage is full of motorcycles.

it is my only choice.

When you're at work is it sitting outside in the sun without the cover?

the one for my Miata - took me less time to take off than putting on. Taking off: loosen on both sides of back, start rolling to the front, help off the mirrors, loosen under the front bumper, fold in thirds and store in trunk or pax seat. Only real problem is if it rains while it's on and ...then where to you put it? trunk is okay I guess since it's large enough to hold it in the 8. I'd likely use it in the p. garage - keeps birds and dust from getting on it if nothing else, vandals will think twice before attempting to mess with it. Or sell it...here or Ebay...

I have the exact one you are describing and it fits like a glove...it takes about 45 seconds to put on with two people....so one it takes about a 90-100 seconds. I do use mine though...when i drive to school and park next to all those "other" cars, i take it out and cover it everyday....even though i wash it once a week (On a student's salary!) i still cover it because i care about it to much.

I have been considering whether I should cover my car while at work. I really don't want some jerk vandalizing it just because he is jealous or whatever reason he may have in his warped mind. Plus working in a school district doesn't really help, not that I don't love kids :D Yeah right.... j/k
