I haven't heard that. If it was a salesman, shrug it off. They are generally stupid.

My source indicated that your source found that out from another source who was the uncle of one source who worked for a source at Mazda's sources, who was actually just kidding and felt like throwing a rumor out there to the public.

The info was coming from the regional manager (NW) so it should be pretty decent. I am all about intel sharing and this is why I need a second source on this. I didn't make up the info so don't blame me for bad news.

the shinka is classy, but it ain't all that. i like the paint color, but not the beige interior. I would think they would provide the shinka options on the regular cars like they are doing for the 2006.

At least this confirms there WILL be an '07 RX-8. For what the source is worth anyway.

That isn't out of the realm of possibility, considering they've already made the Shinka package available in multiple colors. Perhaps the elements that make a Shinka a Shinka will now just be considered high-end options. It seems as though it's moving in that direction anyway.

It's just a pretty color, satellite radio, and softened suspension. I'm not gonna cry over it.

Actually, in back-to-back driving, the Shinka feels better controlled around corners and on crappy pavement. Bigger damper shafts. It has the mazdaspeed shocks.

I could also swear the shinka rolls a bit less than the normal suspension.

Forget the shocks, I picked it because a) they were out of Winning Blue the day I went, and 2) it has tan leather and piano black instead of 37337 bl1ng -- which does not appeal to me.

But of course, mazda's current Brilliant Black cant' even compare to the old 80's BB -- that one had mica flakes and was hypnotizing to look at. So's black cherry -- reason #3 why I took the shinka. It strongly reminded me of my brilliant black mica rx7.

I'm not sure that the Shinka has Mazdaspeed shocks........I know the damper shafts are just a hair larger but I don;t think they are Mazdaspeed....otherwise, the springs would have to be Mazdaspeed as well.

That's the nature of HUMINT, and the reason of my post. I am trying to get you guys to get me a second comfirmation on the info. I found that you guys are extremely rude. Just because you precive the intel to be bad, you don't have to **** all over me like I am an idiot.

Try not to take it personally.

What is happening is that you are being mis-informed. People here are telling you about it. You are feeling like we are dumping on you...but, the attitude you taste is more for that of who gave you the info, not you.

Do yourself a favor and don't shoot the messenger of truth...if you must, spite the liar. People who tell you the truth are your friend...even if it sometimes comes with a sharp edge.

Hang around, there is a lot of information to be had...and you can have it LONG before anyone at any dealership will know it(Unless they read this forumn, haha).

That's actually the beauty of the 85 BB GSL...no rust, no bad rubber, nothing. I bought it off of a little old lady in Seattle who kept EVERY receipt from when she bought the car new (I even have the original window sticker). It's going to kill me to part with her, but my new 06 BB arrived at Tacoma yesterday and I should be able to pick it up by Wednesday. I have too many toys already (including an 05 R1 and a Triumph Spitfire), so I would rather have it go to a good home than let her fall into neglect. I'll post a pic sometime so you can reminisce.

Dealers do not know what they are getting basicly till they get it. Mazda does not give them that kind of information.

Everyone,

Just searched the Mazdausa.com website trying to build an '07 Shinka and couldn't find a link anywhere on the website for a Shinka option. Sorry if I'm rehatching old info, but I was looking to see if you could get an '07 Shinka in the new dark blue metallic. So, it appears to be true that there is NO '07 Shinka, or possibly the info is just buried in a spot on their website and I'm not seeing it. Let me know what you know!

Thanks!

funny how everyone was jumping down the original poster's throat and in hindsight, they weren't so far off.
