Nissan GTR or greddy turbo

I always wanted skyline R-34, but it's impossible to get in U.S. cost is freaking 120K

Well, I have 2006 RX-8 shinka pearl white and love to drive it everyday.

I plan on put turbo on my car in future.

Well, New Skyline GTR is coming up....It's been my dream car for all my life....

What do you think?
Put turbo on my car or save money up for GTR......

What will you guys do??

It's like asking... "Would you rather buy a Civic or a Ferrari?" The price difference way too great...

I know
RX-8 Shinka is 30K
and GTR will be 70K
Price difference is great

But If I modify my car it will cost money.....
I am thinking putting 15K for modify(turbo, bodykit, exhaut, wheels, new suspension) my 8......
30+15 or 70......

GTR is just awesome......

Well, well, well..................still Freaking Don't KNOW!!!

one thing I do know

Go out there and enjoy my ride with turbo sound....

Get the GTR if money's not an issue, you'll have insane bragging rights.

15k for all those things you want is only a dream thats not gonna come true
just wheels and body kit will costs you close to 10k already
and since you want turbo, i am assuming bbk? and some bombass suspension?
gonna be more than 15k

and again..

if you have the buck
then get GTR

I think the issue is not so much 30k + 15k or 70k at this point. Since you already have the RX8, let's face it, you won't be getting anywhere near that 30k back. So realistically you're looking at 70k - 20k(ideally) = 50k OR the 30k+ 15-20k ~ 50k! the GTR will have the upper hand in power, status, resale, among other things. So if you could afford the GTR without much issue then the choice should be pretty clear..

The GTR has been off my list though.. simply because it has yet to offer a standard manual transmission, and despite how much quicker this super speed automagic tranny maybe I just don't see it being as much fun! I'm personally going to hold back on my mods a bit and save up for an exige/elise in the next 3 yrs or so

Looking back at a few of you past posts it seems a HKS exhaust is too expensive for you, paying for installation on a turbo kit is too expensive, you seem troubled by your low resale value, you don't even have enough money for a turbo kit right now, and you're looking at adding cheap wheels to you RX-8. So, here's my advice to you...

GRASP REALITY!

If you have to ask, you can't afford it.

well ****, the real question should be corvette Z06, or GTR, or used viper. 70K is alot of $$ to be playing with! I wouldnt be asking other peoples opinions on this! Just wait and if you absolutely must have the GTR when it comes out, then get it. If not well by that point youll have plenty of money to **** away anyways so you can turbo your 8.

I can't drive a car w/o clutch. I took a loaner Mazada 3 with auto back home last night and I was lucky I didn't fall asleep at the wheels.
Maybe that's why they're called Autotragic.

You don't need suspension upgrade on a Shinka. Just get $200 tires and put on better pads and racing rotors. Forget bodykit, they just look lame on a Shinka.

Do you really think your going to be able to touch a GTR for list price???? Add another $10 to 20K is more realistic.

if you are doing it for the speed of it. go for it. but the 8 as far as body/look goes is definitely better. I myself would take a lot more cars around 50-60k before this Nissan.

There won't be a manual tranny for the GTR.
Get used to it guys - full-manuals (with a clutch) are soon going to be a thing of the past.

Think about it -
The autotragics are just as fast (or faster) as anyone can be in switching gears, the gears are getting to be nearly identical to the manuals in both ratio and number, they allow the manufacturer to eliminate a production variation which reduces costs, it will lower development and tooling time, reduce vendor costs and allow for a single EPA rating for a model.
If Ferrari, Porsche, etc. can convince people to go with "Tiptronic" trannys, so can Nissan.

yea, they're awesome trans and some shift faster than any human can, it just undoubtibly takes alot of fun out of sports cars, I mean nothing gives me a bigger hard on than shifting me rx8 at 9000 rpms, chirping the wheels and going. Idk, I guess its newer better technology but I'd rather use a shifter than chrome paddles on my steering wheel! Just my preference
