Next generation 8

I saw on a thread that the 8 turbo is coming. Does anyone have any hard evidence of that? Are we looking two years down the line for '06? Will the price go up ten grand? Do you think that they will also add folding rear seats and find a decent place for the spare?

Mike Ockstynee 03-11-2004 10:18 PM

Yes, I called mazda today and they confirmed everything you said. They told me 2 years down the line for the turbo, 10 G price increase and a foldign rear seat. Oh yea, they are placing the tire under the car.

Kel Rx8 03-11-2004 10:35 PM

funny my dealer told me the same thing
he said about 50 grand
and will be twinturbo called the mazdaspeed package

Monique 03-11-2004 10:44 PM

I really REALLY love my 8, but don't think I'd spend 50 g's on one!!

rx-7~rx-8 03-11-2004 11:04 PM

man you guys most know some people... that know some people... that know some people at mazda... that know people who know about the future RX-8... haha..

murix 03-11-2004 11:31 PM

They are going to place the spare tire on top of the motor. That is why they mounted it so low, so they had space for the tire. You can not do that with a V-6. This is why a rotary is so cool.

I spoke to someone at Mazda who said the next gen 8 would be foot powered. Seems plausible.

no guys, they are putting the spare tire on the ROOF, at least that is what the mazda rep told me. Gotta keep the weight in between the front and rear wheels at all costs!

I heard that they are putting the spare IN the motor as an harmonic balancer!

Sue Esponte 03-12-2004 09:01 AM

See, and I heard that they were building a spare into every tire....kind of like two-ply toilet paper. :D

I heard they're gonna change the triangular shaped rotors to square rotors. HOW AWESOME IS THAT?

MazdaManiac 03-12-2004 09:57 AM

You guys are smoking crack! Especially Ockshuge.

Sue Esponte 03-12-2004 01:49 PM

No, but I heard the next gen RX8 was going to come equipped with a crack dispenser as a standard accessory.

I heard it would even pimp out some ho's on the side to help pay for itself.

memrie 03-12-2004 06:17 PM

I heard that the cup holders were going to be removed and replaced by a mini fridge, which holds a 6 pack... of coke, cause drunk driving is BAD, and the NAV system will be swithced to a mini HDTV! Sweet.

HotC4rL 03-15-2004 10:33 PM

who needs a spare tire...why not just make the car with 5 wheels? and 3 turbos!

Hanzo 03-16-2004 05:56 AM

Haven't you guys learn Dealership don't know jack about anything. They just want to sell cars.

Imp 03-16-2004 08:34 AM

I heard the tires will be made of carbon fiber. they can't be punctured.

Overport 03-16-2004 09:04 AM

Yes, i believe when the Mazdaspeed version comes out in late '04 or early '05 it will come turbocharged.

Is the square rotor going to increase the cost by 25% then? ;)

The RX-8 is nicely priced right where it is at. Get the basic for 26k, and the loaded for 32k. I don't know that I want to spend more money to have a turbo. Depends, 2k more or 10k more? Mazda just needs to work out the few bugs for the '06. It is about as perfect as you get! :D

Mikelikes2drive 03-16-2004 12:02 PM

wat would happen if some1 actually believed u guys... and took ur sarcasm as truth. that would be 1 messed up/ confused person
