Lets apply common sense here, a lighter car with an limited slip IRS, a double wishbone front and a lower center of gravity against a heavier all wheel conventional chassis...which one SHOULD turn better?

Hitoi.

Descended into trolldom. So I'll slap back: None of the cars your yapping about feel like Rx-8 does. Not a *one*. Faster, hell yeah. More outright grip? Sointainly! But not a *one* feels like these little jets do.

The only better car I could think of for me, is a 12-banger front-motor ferrari. I personally wouldn't waste my time with much else. Maybe an E-Type or really old-school 911.

Go troll somewhere else, Ike. You're boring me. We don't give a flying fsck there are faster grippier cars, allright? Get it? We don't care.

Your idea of a car is a very crude contraption. Fast, but crude. Some of us like something a little more aircraft-like, y'know? More bike-like, if you'd prefer.
Tissue?

Aircraft like, bike-like, go kart, make up your freaking mind. I've driven the RX-8, it handles really well, lets no go overboard though.

It's clear you don't care considering how defensive your post is.

It doesn't matter which one should or shouldn't, the Evo does. The Evo is VERY different from the WRX handling wise. The RX-8 handles great, it's also handles very different, but if you want the most steering feedback, the quickest steering, and more grip the Evo has it over the RX-8. But this is stupid, not need to get all your panties in a bunch, I was just point out what a funny thing it was to say since the guy was making it sound like the Evo was some drag car.

Nope, I don't give a ****. Furthermore, if you came to a rotary club meeting, or any car club meeting, and started mouthing off like you do here, you'd likely get beat up really bad. You hide behind your computer.

I'll tell you whut. One of these days, you and I meet up on a road course. Not some autocross deal, but a real road course, like Road Atlanta.

You take whatever you have. Scoobie, right? ALlright. I'll take shinka-chan.

I bet you a fine steak I'll smoke you like a toothpick joint.

I'm no race driver, but I'm willing to bet a really nice fat steak that you're not one either. We'll do two hours. Lowest laptime in those two hours wins. Loser gets to buy winner a steak.

Oh boy, here we go again. Who's the idiot that decided to compare the 8 to the EVO again?

I don't see where. I pointed out that if he physically did this at a real club meet, some random club meet where I'm not even at (let's say he goes to an Infinity meet), and he starts ragging on their cars, he's either going to get asked to leave, get escorted out, or wheeled out.

Real people in real space do not tolerate what we put up with here from him for too long.

If that's a threat, then people in this site *really* need to start questioning why they are here. This is an Rx-8 site, is it not? If we love our cars, is it bad to express it with enthusiastic prose? If others come in here and start tracking mud all over the joint, shouldn't we respond in some manner?

I am dead serious about the steak, though. I'll have mine rare, new york strip, with a bottle of Rothchild Bordeaux, and a coke. I'll smoke my victory cigar in shinka-chan, on the way back from the track.

Rather a better way to have a duel than trading shouting broadsides in some pothole in the information electronikbahn, yes?

I think you'll find that after driving the 8 you will see the difference between a sporty luxury sedan, and a sports car.

Yeah, that's cool man, you're a sensitive rotary lover. It's beautiful. My eyes are tearing up. No need to get your pokemon undies in a knot. You have no experience driving the EVO and last time I checked, you weren't a vehicle dynamicist. And remember, you started this nonsense.

I have an Evo, and I'm not driving to Atlanta because you don't like what I have to say. Unless of course you would like to pay for my gas a hotel and my entry fee. I'll gladly meet you at Road America or some place closer to my house if you feel you have something to prove. I've been putting off going to the track because I've been putting a lot of money into my house but I could find the funds for you. Hell, I'll even pull my kart out of storage and beat you with that and my Evo if you like. Or I could find a local to Road Atlanta, I think StopNTurn freak from this forums runs there, maybe you two can hook up. Here's a video from his last trip there, we have similar power levels he has a couple more suspension bits than I do, we were even tuned by the same shop. Plus he's most likely a better driver as well since I'm a bit rusty.

http://videos.streetfire.net/video/w...3D60E414DB.htm

I've been to car club gatherings before and I've hung out with rotary owners from this and other boards, no beating up happening and it's not because I'm any different with them than I am on here. I also fail to see where I'm mouthing off, I'll tell any RX-8 owner to his face my car turns better than his and that he doesn't get very good gas mileage. He can tell me he has more amenities and a better ride than I do and I'll agree, I'm a realist.

Sarcasm and insults ... nice. I don't need to be a dynamicist to know what low yaw inertia feels like. Anyone who's driven a Big Wheel knows that feel.

You are one serious buzz-killer, y'know that? Whassamatta, don't like to see the h8rs challenged? Tough *******.

This place should be to learn about the car, how it works, how to fix this and that, how to hop 'em up, to wax poetic about 'em, to someday even reminsce about 'em. Not a place to come to read trolls disguised as faint praise.

Maybe that's the problem. I'm sensitve. I can feel when a hard disk is starting to go. I can feel when a waterpump isn't long to live. Maybe that's why I can really appreciate a whip like the 8 in the face of fasssster more grrrrrrrippy competition.

And others, quite obviously, wouldn't know a fine car if it came up and leaked oil all over his shoe.

PS: I think I saw him using a cheating turbo. Real men use propel their cars using their feet.

Woah boys.... tone down the testosterone. We don't need to have the mods stepping into this thread or closing it.

And Ike... just because you are right or "telling it as it is" doesn't mean you HAVE TO do it. You can just ignore anti-Evo/anti-subbie comments.

One day we'll do this, Ike. maybe not next month or next year even, but one day, should you wish (I'm game if you are) you and I will take this to the track. Where it really belongs. If you want to, how about we up the ante a little -- the wager then would be something like a bottle of really good whisky. Track of your choice, as long as it's a road course, not a drag or an auto-x. Loser gets to buy and kill the bottle with the winner. Catch is, since it's a higher wager, we need to up the game too. Both drivers in identical cars. go-karts if you'd like. 8s or Evos or whatever floats your boat, as long as both are absolutely identical. If they're identical, I don't care *what* they are. Rear-engine Beetles oughta make it a real hoot.

I've been to car club gatherings before and I've hung out with rotary owners from this and other boards, no beating up happening and it's not because I'm any different with them than I am on here. There you go with this realist thing again. I think the Rx-8 driver IS a realist. We know we're not the fastest. But we know what we have. What chafes my buns is the consistency you show in taking digs at the 8. Good lord. I took a dig at the Aveo here -- ONE THREAD. But you do this regularly.. you try to camouflage it, and you put up this "realist" smokescreen -- but it's trolling, Ike. You fail to see it, but you are trolling an awful lot, and it ruins threads. It stinks up the board.

You've gotten a lot more subtle in your trolls, Ike.. but they're still trolls. They're calculated to draw a response, and you know it.

What is it with you.. you don't like owners singing the praises?

Gumball Rally! Mono only, but you do get grrreat earfuls of italian twelve, a really angry 427 Cobra, a blown 911 and a whole lot more. Real driving.

Grand Prix is coming out on DVD pretty soon.

Considering your whole defense was that the RX-8 turns better and that you'll whoop me in my car with your RX-8 it seems to me that you're reeling a bit. Actually you're reeling a lot. But hey, I'll gladly meet up with any car enthusiast and talk shop over a bottle of wine, as long as you can leave this overly defensive nonsense at home.

I'm not trolling, I'm being me. I do the same thing on Evo boards when some guy overestimates the capabilities of the Evo against another car. What ruins threads is people like you taking something I say way too far. I found it funny that someone was saying to get an Evo if you want something fast 0-60, and to get an RX-8 if you skidpad g's. Nothing more nothing less, it was comical to me, I wasn't looking for the drama you created (trolling) and it's not insulting to the RX-8.

There's nothing subtle about most of what I say, I say what I mean. If you want to read into things that's fine, but you're reading something that isn't there.
