im looking to buy a 2004 rx8 with 79000 miles for 6000..6 speed rotary engine..and was wondering what are some important facts about a rotary engine i need to kno to take care of it..thank u

 

I answered this. Quite thoroughly.

It even got it's own thread just so it doesn' get buried in other threads and so I didn't have to retype it for every newbie that comes asking. It was then made a sticky, to make it easier for newbies to find before they post the questions.

So rather than retyping it all over again, how about you take a peek into the thread first...?

 

Before you buy, get a compression test for the engine, just to make sure the engine is still going strong. And another thing, check the oil every gas fill-up, because this engine eats up oil faster than a regular piston engine. And lastly, read all the stickies, and follow the procedures, good luck.
