I was wondering if any one would help me get some more horse power out of my rx-8..; i heard of adding turbo and/or ecu. but not really familiar with that kind or which would be beter..

stick with suspension, the reason people buy the car is because it handles like a beast. not because of hp, sorry.

 

well im not looking to race against corvetts.. i would just like to add little pizzazz to the speed... make my trips to the grocery store a little faster///

 

Get a turbo. They are about $5000

 

what about the ecu.. "electronically controlled unit" ... would that do anything thats worth the money getting..

 

Trade it in . You could tide up to a jet plane and it probably, won't be fast enought for most people.

 

dude you got an rx-8 there's no such thing as adding a little pizzazz. its either go big with boost or nothing at all. there ain't any in between with the renesis.

stick to suspension work mann, then you'll feel the rush and speed all you want on the track where its made and designed to be.

 

Intake = about 1 hp
exhaust = about 2 hp - but it makes it sound great
ECU - about 2 hp

 

speaking of exaust.. i bought it used with a non factory exaust installed.. well week later i was changing my plate, and i noticed it was melting the bumper where the tail pipes come out.. me changing the length of the pipe would fix this problem.. ??

 

buy some extended rubber hangers at an auto store to let it hang a bit lower. changing the pipe wont fix it. how big is the exhaust anyway? please don't tell me its a huge fart can.
