Hey everyone! Joined a short while ago but I've been lurking for a bit and have learned quite a few things. I've owned 3 rotaries previously (all of them were FCs) and finally stepped up to the RX-8. Purchased an '04 6 speed GT 12 days ago and I am loving it! Hope to keep learning here and to contribute some things myself.

They gave me a Carfax and also in the pouch with the manual was a sheet listing the different service bulletins that have been done. Looks like it had an engine replacement in 2008. In just over a week I am taking the car to the local Mazda dealer here to have a compression test done since that warranty is about to go out on this one (unless it has already expired). In any case the service writer I spoke to at the dealership seemed pretty knowledgeable and I am going to talk to him about a few things when I take the car there.

I guessed not. I know her in person, and I'm pretty sure her reaction to buying an 8 would have been quite a bit more...excitable...than your posts have been

Welcome!

It already had a new K&N drop-in filter when I got it. So far all I've done is disconnect the VFAD. Going to get the BHR ignition upgrade soon. I may tint it later on down the road and maybe a drop. I have to be honest though, I love this car the way it is right now.

Many many years ago I used to love Final Fantasy VII. My favorite character was the antagonist from that game. His name is Sephiroth. I thought he was a badass so I used it for everything but it turns out most videogames only let you have up to an 8 character name so I shortened it to Sephy. Yes, a very interesting story.

And may I ask how you came up with your name?

I'll try to keep this short haha.

My first car was a POS V6 1990 Firebird. I have to admit, I only bought it because it had T-tops. Anyway, the transmission went out and a co-worker sold me my first ever rotary: an '87 NA FC. It was faded Arctic Silver and manual and I loved it.

Eventually I came across an '88 NA FC that didn't run so I gave the woman a couple hundred dollars and it became my parts car. The sad thing is, it looked better than the daily driver. So I drove my '87 for a couple years until I came across an '87 TII. Took it for a test drive an immediately bought it. Beautiful white and also manual. Drove that for a while until it broke.

Over time I sold each of them off and went through a few more vehicles, always wanting to eventually get another rotary. Finally came across this RX-8 and here I am. Sorry for the novel.

Again, thanks everyone for the warm welcome. Like I said, I've been lurking for a little while and so far I really like this forum.

Welcome. Super clean, nice to see someone before you respected the car.

I met a guy this morning who saw my '8. Was wild how much he respected my car.
