Have to say I love this forum, did a ton of research here over the last few months, asked a couple of questions too.

I'll be picking up my RX-8 tommorow, its a 2006 with 40,000 kms, no sunroof, cloth seats, six speed.

It will be my daily driver, and joins my wife's 09 Impreza and my 87 944 Turbo track car in the stable.

I'm on the hunt for a spare tire kit, I have a few road trips coming up and I'd like the security of a real spare in the trunk.

Only one crappy picture for now:

Post it in the "For sale/wanted" classified section on this site for faster results. Anyway, i'm looking for a spare tire myself.

An insurance company with towing is better than the spare tire, and cheaper.

My insurance company will do a courtesy tow if I blow a tire to the nearest place that will get me quality tires. I would rather not give up the trunk space and add the 60 pounds to my car.

I agree Doc, and I have auto club (AMA) roadside assistance with a long tow option.

However, there are spots here, particularly in the mountains, where you are going to need a spare tire to get you back to an area with cell phone coverage to call for a tow.

Thats not 100% reliable though, believe it or not. I had that type of thing through my cellphone, where they would call the nearest tow truck to me and pay them for the first 20 miles of towing. I thought it was great, used it once with no problems inside the city. Then I took a road trip from colorado to nevada and my old car died in the middle of BFE and I called verizon to get a tow truck. They called me back about an hour later saying they could not find one in the area willing to do it. I ended up having to call the nearest town and pay out the *** to some small town tow truck who said he never does business with verizon or any of those places that give free towing because it does not pay as well as a regular tow.

I think for the most part you are usually fine with that type of towing, but on the rare occasion you get stuck in the middle of nowhere its better to have the spare tire.

Nice, it includes the tire too, but they won't ship to Canada

I put a WTB ad up in the for sale section.
