FL New owner of a 2006 RX8

I just wanted to say hello to everybody. I recently purchased a 2006 RX8 6MT with a little over 51,200 miles. I've been looking at buying one of these for over 2 years now. My old car finally died on me and the opportunity to purchase an 8 was too much to pass up. I've been lurking here for a while trying to learn as much as I could about the 8's before I bought one. I think I got a really nice one. Here's some pic's of it:

First thing I'm going to do is upgrade the ignition system to BHR's coils and change the plugs and wires. I already have a MazdaSpeed CAI on it and a MazdaSpeed carbon Fiber front strut bar. All the interior lights, except the puddle lights, have been switched to blue led's. It looks really cool at night. I can't pour a ton of money into this car, I have two other high mileage vehicles that I have to maintain also in addition to putting a kid thru college and I don't have a money tree growing in my backyard.

LOL. Yeah, I seen you too. I'm not too crazy about those carbon fiber B pillars either. I'm just not sure about taking them off. I'm worried about ruining the paint underneath them if I pull them off. I think they are just stuck on there with double sided tape. I was thinking of using a hair dryer to heat them up and see if they pull off easy or not.

The rims are Zinik's. I believe these are the ones I have, only obviously, mine are black. http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...All&sort=Brand

I'll keep an eye out for you. I drive across the bridge everyday around that time.

Take care

Welcome.

One of the first mods you should consider are the RB oil coolers and condenser screens. Could save you from hundreds of dollars of repairs thanks to a rock.

Just buy a piano black set of b pillar appliques. My b pillars were faded so I overlayed them with a piano black set. Looks good.

+1. It's cheap and easy to do and will save you a lot.

Welcome to the madness! Definitely do the BHR coil upgrade. You may be able to find some used ones on here too.

So, are you saying that the B pillars are not painted?

Thanks for the info. I don't know anything about the RB oil cooler, or the stock setup for that matter, but I'll do some research and see what it's all about.

Mine is actually chipped in one spot and it shows the blue underneath. I think it's a coating on the paint??
