New Member - Love it!
Hi All,
I just took possession of my new 2008 Velocity Red MX-8 this afternoon!! I love it, it's great to drive. This forum has been informative as I have looked for my car.
I don't know if this solution has been discussed, I haven't read much of the history on the forum yet. My salesman told me the engine is prone to flooding, which I already knew. He told me to let the car warm up, if it is cold and hasn't been driven for hours. He said to allow it to warm until the needle begins to move just a little, and I won't flood at all.
Judging from the experience on the forum, I'm sure you already have heard this. However, I just wanted to share if there is someone else new like me who hasn't dealt with it yet.

that's real nice for a sales man to say, the car he's making money off of, is prone to flooding. real nice sales strategy, haha.
enjoy the car! and don't mind theses guys about posting pics of yourself. they're real lonely and meeting girls that own the same car they drive gets 'em excited, hahaha.

Welcome, CarolinaGirl. There is a forum thread for VR owners at Calling All Velocity Reds and check the SE RX-8 Forum for numerous threads considering the Carolinas area. My Father's side of the family is from the Kannapolis area but I have only been there a couple of times.
