New Member Intro - '05 GT Sunlight Silver
Hey All, I've been lurking here for a little while soaking up knowledge (thank you) as "an" RX-8 was on my short list of replacement cars for our 350Z Roadster.
Not positive how it works around here but every other auto-board I've been on for 15 years seems to like pictures w/ a new member intro so here is my new toy:
'05 Grand Touring w/ Nav, 32k miles - Sunlight Silver w/ Black Int. - I'm LOVING it, feels like my S2k which I've sorely missed (the Z was my lovely wife's). I think I got a fantastic deal from my local Mazda dealer.
So, HI, and thanks for the knowledge base on my new toy!

Thanks All! I think I remember what to do w/ a high winding engine.......what's that beeping I keep hearing .
And the last pic is the primary reason for the switch to the RX so I hope I've not offended the Mazda-Gods too much by posting something with a Hamburger Emblem on it. (I was teaching my son there what an IMproper Tranny is) :D

Wasn't the first one and surely won't be the last. I've restored a few old VW's (Ghia & Type-3), had and auto-x'd/DE'd several Civics, the S2k was my baby (before the baby) but I did a dumb dumb thing and traded it for the SUV we needed.
The Z my wife wanted because the roof didn't come off of her G35c (and we missed my 'vert). When she was pregnant with our son the Z got harder for her to drive so I inherited it, the plan all along was when he was born she got the Murano and I'd trade the Z in on something that I liked again as long as it could safely carry the kiddo.
So there's the long version, the 8 is mine and I'm thrilled to have something that fits my awesome little family, with a proper manual transmission and that I enjoy.

The G was sweet, I shouldn't complain about the Z but I never did fall in love w/ that car, way too heavy (the power is certainly there though). We have determined our family has to have an SUV & a sports car for us to exist, (we tried it w/ 2 sports cars and that didn't work) I'm just glad my lovely wife offered up to be the one to drive our SUV The universe is spinning properly again
