Hello everyone around the world. My name is Nick and after about 4 months of reasearch and visiting daily you forum I am a couple of days away from finalizing a deal on an second hand RX8 import from Japan. Due to the fact that thay are quite expensive new here in Cyprus, our other logical chaoice is to go or a used import from Japan.
I have seen a few cars and after battling with with the choice of 2 colors (Titanium and Velocity), I've decided to go for a 2003 Type S 6 speed 250PS Titanium with full body kit, mp3, SatNav TV with 23,000KM.
I look foward to join in with your discussions and to post pics as soon as everything is settled. On Monday I am taking the car to Mazda to get a Technical report before I go ahead.
By the way I would like to thank everyone for their posts and threads, they have been very usefull.

Actually the RX8 is a preety funny story when it comes to cost. In Cyprus we have a tax system based on the cubic capacity of the engine, so the bigger the engine the more tax it has. Example RX8 is considered (after much debate from the goverment) to be a 1.3, so it has the same tax (2500usd) as a Yaris, Honda Jazz, Peugot 206 1.3 etc . Plus 15% VAT, plus 10% extra tax cause its not European, so brand new your looking at about 40,000 USD. Now a BMW 330 or a Nissan 350Z cost about 100,000 USD! (60,000 of that figure is tax)
So everyone drives around in 1.6 lt cars or up to 2.2 for BMWs or Mercs. The RX8 is considered to be the most value for money sport car you can get in here.
I got mine second hand 7/2003 imported from Japan and it cost me about 25,000 dollars.
