New here with a question please.

Hi all, I bought my 2004 RX8 at the end of Dec 10. It had aprox 20,000 miles on it and a possible roll back on the meter at 42,000 which was found at the signing by a carfax! Get your car faxes!! lol So it put me about 62000 true miles. Still thought for 2004 those miles were ok.
Once home it did not get driven much due to all the snow, however I faithfully started it, let it warm up and shut her down. I had read about issues with not warming it and driving it cold and followed what I had read to the best of my ability. About 2 wks ago I got stuck at a gas station. I had left the groc store and went to get gas. Found out that you cant stop for short periods of time and shut the engine off without it flooding! So followed what I had found out about that and was then doing good!
Last week my car made a popping noise and then died! lol I called my mechanic and he came and picked her up, she had a blown engine. My mechanic told me to check into the warrenty on the motor, he thought it was 100,000 miles. I called a close Mazda dealer and found out it was 8yrs or 100,000 miles. They told me to bring her in and they would check it out. They called me the next day verified it was the parts under warrenty and that they had submitted the paperwork to Mazda. They were suppose to call on Friday however since it was a Holiday, Mazda was closed so they said by Monday I should know if they will replace it.

My question here is...has anyone gotten this far to have a new motor denied?? They keep telling me they dont see this happening Im just sooo worried.

If it failed a compression check, it should get replaced. I've heard of weird things happening, but you should be fine.

Depends...I seen people get screwed over by mazda for not showing proof of taking care of the engine maintenance.

But you should be fine.

Thanks for the replies, does anyone know if they put in the same kind of engine or did they change the 2004-2008 engines?

My car was in the shop getting some work done on the engine. Luckily it did not need a replacement but was told if it did, it would be a reman.

Mazda isn't going to get you a brand new crate engine on their dime.
