New here, hello all

Hello everyone. I just registered and am looking forward to the production of the RX-8. I am in college right now, and I have a celica that I dumped about 4K into, but I am hoping to trade that baby in on an RX-8 come summertime of 03. Hopefully this board will take off like newcelica.org did, and hopefully i will be posting here with an RX-8 in a little over as year See you on the board.

Joe

Hi, relatively new here too (though I've been registered for a while- just don't know enough about engines and car stuff to join in the conversations much!)

Also looking very much forward to the RX-8. Gave my last car to my little sister, and have been waiting for the right car to buy- if I've got to wait another year, so be it!

fuel cutoff is said to be between 9,500 RPM and 10,000 rpm... gauge of course can be set higher

ummm...before you finish college, take some english classes Because, if you were in a fatal car accident, you wouldn't be here posting right now

of course, if someone else lost their life, then I am an *******, and I'm sorry

last time i checked the dictionary:
"fatal" (adj.) -- causing or capable of causing death

I rolled my car 6 times landing upside down. Broke my neck, my left wrist, collapsed more than 50% of my lungs. I consider it fatal, but I survived & still posting. Yes, it is possible to still post after a fatal car accident.

Yikes!!! . Rolled 6 times. Broke your neck and collapsed a lung. How did that all happen? How well have you recovered?

I'm not exactly sure how my accident happened because parts of that memory fails. I only vaguely remember that there was a truck that I tried to swerve and avoid hitting.
I'm lucky and grateful to have survived, and I have now fully recovered from my injuries. Although, my neck is sometimes a little stiff.

I dunno howa highschool kid can afford this car.

All to you if your parents buy you this car, but I think that's an easy way out and you'll never appreciate the car as much as "we" do who pay for it.

Connie,

What kind of car were you in? Sounds like you were very lucky (if I can say that with all the injuries you sustained). Hope things are going better for you now.

As far as owning a car like this in high school, I just hope that you are a good driver. This car will be probably be very easy to lose control of if you aren't paying attention. On the flipside that is what should make it a blast to drive. I'm not saying that high schoolers aren't good drivers and those of us a little past our high school days (ok slightly more than a little past) are great drivers but experience does count. Especially when dealing with a RWD car.
