New Guy Here
New guy here.
I came from the Mazda6 Club as Kdn02[some good, crazy, funny people over there] but I traded my '05 6 in for an '06 RX-8 Sport today. I was about as close as you can get to buying a 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2.0T but the dealer either could not find or did not want to find the car I wanted. They also failed to understand that when someone is dropping 23K on a new car they want what they want without all of the switch and bait, BS dealer head games.
Anyway....
I need to thank the members and mods here because I did not know jack about rotaries until I started lurking here and looking at both the good and the bad.
Thank you!!!
All I did know about the RX-8 was that it was one of my favorite cars in Gran Turismo and Need For Speed Underground 2!
Some say it's slow but I don't think so.
Let me put it this way – 0 to 60 in 6.X seconds and 148 to 155 plus on the top end is fast enough for me. I find it has enough pull around 3 to 5k for normal driving too but I'll run it up over 7k from time to time to burn off carbon buildup.
Needless to gas mileage ain't great but I knew that already and I'm willing to pony up at the pump.
My “new – used car” has 23k miles and it runs like a champ.
Sorry for the long intro but this is a great car.
I.
Freaking.
Love.
It!

Thanks for the welcome guys.
The Genesis Coupe was a sweet car and on paper it seems close to the RX8 but after you drive both you see that they are different cars altogether.
IMO the 8 is a drivers car and just better overall.
I'm still getting use to having a 6 speed because I have to remember to go to 6th and the first few times I was “trying to go to 6th I hit 4th because I had a fear of hitting reverse.
Now that I know that's not going to happen, I can hit 6th like a real PRO... when I remember...
