A new guy...
Hey guys and gals. I just bought my 8 yesterday, and I finally have a good reason to start posting here.
2005 RX-8 (Black)
MT Touring Package
Rotary Accent Package
Rear Spoiler
$31,200 OTD
I almost went with the GT Package, but leather seats in this state can cause a person to actually becomes sterile. :D
I have owned two RX-7's in my life, and that made the decision to buy an 8 very easy to make. My first impressions of the 8 are really good. This is a well oiled machine with lot's of potential.
I don't plan to turn this into some sort of street racing machine, but my interests are in the maintenance or the overall vehicle. Since I am a moron, and I bought another black car, paint conditioning is very important to me.

Welcome.
As far as care and feeding for the finish on a Black, take a look at Zaino products. They are unbelievably good IME, especially on dark colors. There's a stickied thead on the Show and Shine forum with pix and details.
Enjoy the 8!

And most of all, welcome to the club, Aurelius! Since you're a former rotary owner, you already know how cool the engine is. Add to that the great styling and awesome handling of the '8, and I predict you'll be a very happy camper.
Best,
Bill

If you start looking into the oil debate prepare for a two sided war, Synthetic vs. non-syn, with too much to read. I use Redline 5W-20 fully synthetic and the engine runs great.

I love the color of this car. Some back cars look kinda purple, but this is a very deep and rich color. I like all of the colors, however. It was between black and grey. I am pleased.
Florida...ah the land of sun, fun, heat, terrible storms and monster freaking bugs!!! I will die here...

repost, but I like it...
2004's are faster then 2005's...faster trips down to the dealer to get reflashed...and reflashed...and reflashed...(oops, not anymore)
Silvers are the fastest...on the back of tow trucks...
Yellows are the fastest...the fastest produced, sold, then discontinued because they sold so fast...
Greens are the fastest... in the dealerships when the salesmen come running to you because they have so many of them left on the lots...also the fastest discounted...
Reds are the fastest...when sitting still in the parking lot with all the cute chicks oowing and ahhhing...also when you see flashing blue lights behind you...
Titaniums are the fastest...except with OEM tires on in .0001 inch of snow...
Blue's are the fastest...from gas station to gas station...
Whites are so slow, they couldn't even get built on time and are a year behind the rest...
Blacks are really the fastest...but only at night when no one can see them... :p
