New Florida Owner
I just made a deposit on a 2005 WWP with black and red interior no more than two hours ago. $13,500 with 23,000 miles. Single owner too. Ill have photos early next week as soon as the car gets here.
I have $1,500 right now to upgrade the car. I'm already taking care of the little things (LEDs, clear corners). What I want to spend the $1,500 on is an exhaust and a body kit. Is this doable with such little money? I need some exhaust/kit combo examples from you guys to get some ideas.
Thanks for all the great info on the forums. Anything else important I need to know feel free to chime in.
Edit: Put the wrong mileage

With $1500 to spend you could get an exhaust and a very cheap bodykit that will cost you more in the long run. The body shop will need to make the body kit fit and then paint. With the $1500 you should get an exhaust and a cobb ap from MM http://www.mazdamaniac.com/cobb/accessport.htm. Search youtube for exhaust sound clips. Also a very good upgrade is the BHR Ignition Kit http://blackhaloracing.com/products-...tion-system14/. The OEM ignition system is very weak and known to fail.
Well to the club.
i would put some of that money towards a Cobb the rest is up to you.
but i would check your plugs, coils, wires etc etc before you start buying cosmetic accessories

What exactly does the Cobb do?
A properly tuned Cobb will make your 8 run the way it should have from day one by adjusting air/fuel mixtures, improving gas mpg, mask any CEL's from mods, make your engine run cooler, and help with oil lubrication. If you do go down the cobb road buy from Mazda Maniac he will give a 6 month free tune period with the purchase

^^^^
NO NO NO.............
Don't even tell them you have it cuz it will void your warranty.
Its a very safe mod to do but you need to know what your doing with it.
Custom map installed will work until you uninstall it to your OEM map and reset the PCM --- Then take it to the dealer for work. dealers do not want you programming anything that has to do with electronics.. Read up on the Cobb and learn the ins and outs and you will see the benefit
Mazda Maniac tunes the Cobb very well --- many members turn to him.
There are lots of threads on the cobb search it and all will be good

If your going for looks, a local member is selling a full ORIGINAL mazdaspeed bodykit for VERY, VERY cheap, then lower you car and you might even find some decent wheels for cheap, and you're done.
If you want performance, just meke sure your plugs and coils are in good shape, if not replace them, then save your money for a turbo or a SC, you won't get much HP gains out of a N/A Rx8. Just my $0.02cents.

Thinking about the TurboXS exhaust.
Edit: maybe not. Read some threads of being 4 inches short and melts the housing?
Plus its really loud if you dont buy tips.

So how is your life after AU? Hope everything is good for you!!! What college were you in? I am at AU three years now, originally from Greece, and I love it!!! Met my love and future wife!!! The rx8 helped as well
))
It should be interesting seeing how many AU people are here? Perhaps start a thread?

There are enough of us in the Indialantic, Melbourne, Merritt Island area that we can possibly help you out if/when needed and we can free up. So....you are a War Eagle.............well, that cuts down the number of places you probably work!
You didn't happen to be at UCF last Friday were you? Saw a WWP there leaving the parking agarage as I was headed to my car.
