Never thought I'd do this but.....
My renny has officially got a yakima bike rack :-P In my defense I live for mountain biking and with the birth of our son my wife needs the truck for the child so my hand was forced lol I have the fairing/wind deflector for the front coming tomorrow so that will help to clean it up a little and I did wrap the crossbars in dinoc and cut them to length to avoid a bunch of extra pipe hanging off the side B-) Anyways I figured I'd share this atrocity with you guys lol

I'm really sorry to hear about that grace :-( It would have been alright if they hadn't messed up your 8, I guess they needed the rack more than you apparently :-(

sugar- is that a cannondale u've got?? I've only ever had hardtails. full susp. not my thing. like urs??

I had asked around as to how to do that, I have a collection of bikes, both road and MTB and need to be able to move them around. My wife won't drive a manual shift so her cars out! I found towbars in England but nowhere else so my RX8 goes in to get a custom made towbar done on Monday. My Thule roof setup will stay in the garage in case I buy a third car???!! and the bikes are on the back!! If any bikers want to come over here I can guarantee them some of the best riding in the world! Seriously! Cheers, Stephen.

Yeah it's a 2010 rz120 with the 2013 lefty fork. I personally love it but the trails that I normally ride are very rocky and technical. People ride hardtails sometimes on them but not too many, there are some other trails in my area though that are more downhill and flowy the climbs to these trails are also cake so hardtails are a better/cheaper option for them.

i've been away from the bike scene for about 5yrs. back then full susp. felt like pogo sticks to me. but i came from a roadie background. sure they're better now. got into cycling back in the 70's. first gas crisis. bought a peugeot road bike to ride to high school. hooked.

All comes down to personal preference I guess because I hate the semi truck feeling of a 29er although i'm more about technical rocky descents more than bombing down the hill as fast as possible lol You can keep the 29ers all day long, there's 3 guys in my group that have gone 29 and actually switched back to 26 because they're more fun to ride but I'm sure NZ has way different trails than Colorado :-P

We have quite a variety from sand based to rocky to full on mudfests. The early 29ers were really just 26ers with bigger wheels, and they sucked. The new stuff s pretty trick and handles a lot better. All the R &D is going into 29ers now so the 26ers run the risk of being left behind technically, but not for a wee while yet. I have shares in a bike shop so I get to play on quite a lot of different stuff and I'm amazed at how much better they've got. The main owner is quite short and he's just gone the 29er way but at the end of the day it's all about personal preference. And to be honest, I really like fast gravel road like descents( it might be an age and lack of skill thing!!) who'd have thought I'd be on here discussing bikes. Lol.

I did own a lifted "Troy Lee Edition" MAZDA B3000(equivalent to the FORD RANGER) truck that was practically a recreation truck; took it up to the snow, sand, and the desert. I sold it and got the RX-8, and there are times that I wish I still had that truck. Wife drives the SUV, so the RX-8 sometimes end up as the grocery getter.
