Need your opinion.

Ok, I bought a 05 RX8 last July. Because of a irresponsible person, stoled a car, crashed into me and totaled my car. I lost my 8 just before it's two months anniversary. I was going to get another 8 but my wife said, it reminds her of the accident. So I pick the 06 330i e90 as this is the car that I felt has the same balance feel to the 8. I had my 330i for 6 months now. I MISS MY 8. Especially the sound of the rotary. Seriously thinking about finding a third party to take over my current lease and get a new 06 GT RX8. However, everyone is telling me, I am crazy and BMW is so much better. Nevermind the fact that the 8 is cheaper so it's easier on my wallet. I feel I am alone here. What do you guys think? Should I do it or not.

Thanks

Once a rotorhead, always a rotorhead.

I had the same decision about 2 months ago.
I was looking at the 330CI though, wouln't consider a four-door.

I had coveted the 8 since I first show one two years ago.
Although, the 330 is hard to deny (balance, HP, style).
Decisions ... decisions.

For me it came down to a few main factors...
-BMWs are like ******** ... evenone has one.
-I love the RX-8 design and build quality
-The 330 is about $10k - $12K more than the 8.

Fairly easy decision once I put it to myself in those terms.

I can't believe you passed the written driving test when you come up with new words liked "stoled". Just kidding! Ha ha! Spelling is overrated.......it's all good kids!

There's a reason the Top Gear boys dropped the 3-series on the ground rather than put it anywhere on their cool wall, even in the uncool or seriously uncool section...the only time they've done it in show history. It's a lump of a car. And every ******* who burns through a yellow in my city with total disregard of anyone else is behind the wheel of a 3.

BMW drivers are jizzheads. Not to generalize or anything.......

To be quite honest, i'm not personally fimiliar with the 3, but from some of the other BMW's that i've driven, i'm not very fond of them...at all. Especially in comparison to the 8.

I'd say work the wife, then jump outta that lease. As far as where to do so...got me. If you look around, you'll be sure enough to find somewhere.

Between test drives and cars i've owned, i've still yet to come across a car i've adored more then the smooth and agile 8. Then again, you know this already...

Is that the case or did she not like the 8 in the first place? Does she have to drive it? Does she feel it’s unsafe or juvenile compared to the refined German? You should ask her honest objections. If it is to be your car she should understand your desire for the 8. More fun to drive, less bland and cheaper. Sounds like a no-brainer.

You cannot get the uniqueness of the 8 in any other car, PERIOD.

I'll say just get the 8. It just feels much better

Thanks everyone, I expected no less. It's unanimous.

Cool-Blue-Dad - Lesson learned indeed!! The current lease is a 36 months. I still have 29 more payments to go. If I take it to a dealer, they will get me!

You hit the nail on the head. She wasn't too found of the 8 to start with. She did say the car looks great. After months of constant "reminder" of the 8, she is finally giving in. Now I just have to find my, GT, White with Red/Black int. I searched through Mazda's website for inventory. It seems like a tough color combo to find. Is it not a popular color combo?
