Need help before purchase

I am new to mazda's and came across an 04 rx8 with low miles, I was wondering if maybe someone can assure me of the purchase. It seems to run great and handles good as well, but while driving the check engine light was flashing the entire time. Is this a big issue?? The intake was changed but not sure of the brand and or if it was done correctly. It is only on it's second owner and is at 53,000 miles. Is there anything else I can check out? Does the 8yr/100,000 miles count toward this car? Any help/info is appreciated on the subject.

well, if it's an o2 sensor or something small like that I won't be worried. I have seen postings of people saying that the motor is in serious danger though when it flashes. I am not sure though being the low miles.

You have some reading to do.
Flashing CEL is USUALLY coils, plugs, and/or wires....but could be more serious.

Might wanna read through these!

I am waiting on the guy to call me back, I mentioned wanting to run a scan on it and he doesn't seem to want me to.
