Need advice on catalytic converter

So my cat isn't working too well and I'm gonna need to put a new one in so I can pass californias damn high emmissions laws. Need help on where to buy a new midpipe with a cat for at least cheaper then then the dumb dealership. I've seen some aftermarket ones on eBay going for $300 but I can't find any reviews on the quality. Any help is great.

And by the way, only buying a replacement if I can't pull a friends just for the smog test.

Thanks a lot guys

Define "isn't working too well". What mileage is on the car? Are you aware of the EPA-mandated 80k mile warranty on the cat? I believe CARB even extends the warranty.

92,000 miles. And, I clogged the cat after running too rich for a while.

As others said, why not just get it replaced under warranty?

My 8 ate its cat after only 6k miles
