My Winter Car
Its not you that you have to worry about, its all the idiots on all seasons around you that think they can drive in snow like its dry pavement.
^ holy ****, read the thread before you post.
( ^ I live in northern wisconsin. Some people can drive in the snow. 30 years ago all cars were rear wheel drive, and we all didn't switch tires for winter driving. )
I drive my RX8 every freaken day. Only pussies can't drive in the snow.

I've been driving in snow for 34 years...but not my 8. In fact, I don't drive my 8 in winter- by choice. Hey, it's my fun car, and I want to keep it nice for the 9 months of the year when the roads are actually road-like, not an Iditarod trail. Be that as it may, I do know there are some who use their 8's as daily drivers and must drive them in snow- more power to them, they are great human beings and showing some nifty adaptive skills.
But the 8 owner who will win the title of "Ultimate RX-8 Winter Driver" will be the first one to mount a snow-plow on the front end and clear a Denny's parking lot.
Let the competition begin.

Yeagh you fellas driving the 8 in harsh winter weather areas are ballsey, not from a good/bad driver standpoint, but from a putting your 8 through alot of **** standpoint. Up till 4 yrs ago i lived in northern/northwest Ohio my whole life and i know how harsh winter weather can be on your cars. All the salt/sand, mud, ice and snow take a toll on the car both cosmetically and mechanically.
For those that have no choice but to drive their 8 in that weather, thats understandable. But if you can afford to get a beater to drive through the ruff times, its sure worth it IMO. No way in hell i drive my 8 through the winter just for the "thrill" of it or so that i can boast about being a good "winter" driver in the 8. Before you know it, 2-3 ruff winters have passed and your paint has countless chips/nicks in it and half the car's underbody is rusting.

Jones is right-on. If you're going to be an excellent driver in snow, drive a beater excellently. Save your 8 the abuse.

He has the biggest plow!
my 8 is to low to get into my driveway.
it has a 2-3" triangular water block at the edge. as well as descending a very steep 45 degrees to my garage. otherwise, i would. but seeing as i cant even get it into my driveway...

8's werent meant for snow, no matter how great of tires youve got you cant drive in more than 5.2 inches of snow anyways. I dont know, I just expected to garage mine but thats me
