Recently I realized I was driving a Shinka RX-8. The whole time I have owned my car I thought I was driving a GT. I am not car expert..call me dumb in this field. Can you guys help me and tell me what am driving? (Vin: JM1FE173x50148066). You can check it on KBB.com and run my Vin, it comes out as a 2005 Rx8 Base/Shinka. No clue what all this means, your expertise would be helpful! Thanks!

If it is a 2005 and is any color other than Black Cherry Mica, it isn't a Shinka

 

Its Grey, Interior is leather black and orange.

The car report says its a Shinka? Are car reports not accurate?

EVERY 2004 and 2005 will show "Base/Shinka" in that kind of 3rd party report. It's because the Base and Shinka were the only trims reported, and the report is saying it's "either the base or the Shinka". The Sport, Touring, and Grand Touring were option packages added to the Base trim.

2006 they changed to trims instead of option packages.

For 2005, every single Shinka was painted Black Cherry Mica with a parchment interior.
