None of those stuff effect the compression test result so yea the stealership just wanna milk every single dollar whenever they can.

Just change those stuff urself so they would have no more bs exuses. bring the receipt with you and tell them it's time change the engine.

wowowow! i bought mine used and i only had one service record (receipt) of an oil change that i have done myself and i got a new engine under warranty... yea i had to fight for it for 2 weeks but i got it... dont believe the bs they tell you fight for whats yours!

Replaced the coils, wires, and plugs but really no impovement. Scheduled to take it in next Tues at the local mazda dealer. The compression test states below spec but the dealer is saying it shouldn't have anything to do with the hard starting. Yet when they saw the low spec they did contact Mazda who said they would need to see records. Hopefully the vague carfax dealer entries for the previous owner and my latest oil change will be good enough for my dealer.

If the dealer comes back that Mazda won't accept my vehicle history is there anything else I can do? Is there any way to go directly to Mazda and plead my case?
