My paint problem....
So if you guys recall I made a post about rust that was forming on the roof of my car. The first time I took it to the dealer they told me it was a deep paint chip and to get rust remover and then use touch up paint. They told me that if rust was forming by itself them there would be bubbling under the paint.
Well I had placed an order for the touch up paint and the next day I was walking to my car pissed off about the rust. I took a look at the rust and noticed something a little north of that spot. THERE WAS MORE RUST FORMING SOMEHWERE ELSE! And this time it was bubbling. I quickly scanned the whole roof and discovered there were multiple spots that was forming rust with the paint bubbling It was already too late to take it in to the dealer since I was just getting out of work so the next morning I called right away and spoke with the guy who was helping me (not his manager who said the chip wouldnt be covered) He told me to come in. He looked at the paint and sure enough he saw the bubbling.
He called his manager to come out and his manager glanced at it and was like "Oh their paint chips." I Calmly told him I doubt they are paint chips because it's bubbling just as he said. I pointed out different spots where you can clearly see the bubbles. He looks again "I'm pretty sure they are all paint chips." I'm pissed off now. I look at him and say "This is the reason why I didnt buy the car here to begin with, the only reason why I came here is because you guys are conviniently located near my office. And I find it hard to believe that they all happen to be paint chips."
At this point a salesman who I had met about 2 years before when I first started shopping for the RX-8 came out, he knew me because I had been visiting recently since I was looking to replace my jetta with a MS3 and I had been speaking with him (unfortunatly when I was ready to buy an RX-8 from them he wasnt there and so the dealer lost the deal cause of some other jerks who no longer work there.) So the salesman comes out and asks whats going on. I tell him there is rust developing and the paint is bubbling like they told me, but the guy is saying its paint chips. The manager looks at me and then the salesman then says, "I'm gonna take some pictures and send them to Mazda headquarters and see what they say. He takes pictures as I point out the spots.
After a week I had gotten no response so I called the dealer and spoke with the guy who was originally helping me, he told me there was no word yet but they did send out the pictures. I waited some more and finally got a call. They told me on Monday March 3rd a rep from Mazda of North America is coming down to check the paint on the car and give the final word. So I finally got somewhere, I will keep you guys posted and post some pics of the rust later today.

yeah thats what they are gonna do, if it gets approved by the mazda guy. My concern is that it looks like a paint problem from factory and it might affect the whole car. Guess time will tell.
BTW I took pics yesterday but it was with my phone and the quality didnt come out good so im gonna take it with my g/f's digital camera when i get home.
