my new personal best

i just thought i'd share my personal best mpg!! i was stoked - 23.7mpg!!!!! i hit 330 miles on the odo. i've never broken 300 before. maybe the epa rating of 24 IS possible!! my previous record was 21.6mpg.

it was about 98% highway, and of that it was about 90% cruise control between 65 and 70. i was TRYING to get a record mpg, so i wasn't driving like i normally do - no downshifts to 3rd or 4th to pass on the highway! i was driving from austin to dallas, and i ended up making it back down to waco in one tank. i think i could have broken 24mpg if i didn't have: a second person in the car, ac on constantly, the golf clubs, and all the other weekend stuff we had loaded up in the trunk.

anyway, just thought i'd share.

Dam, that's good to know..

The best I've gotten was 270, but I've never purposefully tried for a high mpg..

i agree, it definitely takes the fun out of driving it. i only "try" or worry about mileage when i'm doing a longer trip like that - driving on a boring highway like I35 isn't fun no matter what, so i might as well try to get the best fuel economy i can!!
