my luck
so i just got my car back from getting the new clutch and flywheel put in and its breaks down 2 blocks b4 i get to my house. the clutch pedal just stayed down and wont come back up. then now thers a little rattle in it. so im guessing my throw out bearing popped. well im taking it back to the dealer tom. to get it looked at. oh yea so i call the dealer and tell them what happend and they start telling me i was hot roding it. I tell them i grew up around mechanics my whole life and know i need to break the clutch in and i wasnt hotroding it. so their like ok well we'll take a look at it.
what you guys think. ever have this happen to you? i mean i wasnt banging gears i may have gotten on it a little but no draggin or popping the clutch. and the funny thing is ive been w/ people who get clutches in and will drag them the same day w/ no problem. i drive mine an hour home from the dealer and it goes beserk.

where did you get the clutch and flywheel installed? The dealership will just blame your aftermarket parts...

got it at 3:30 got home and broke down at 4:20. went from dealer to interstate to home. so i hope its my throwout bearing. and not my pressure plate or something. cause ther just gonna say i was hot roding it and make me pay for labor and ill have to go buy new clutch or pressure plate or bearing. w/e it is. but if the bearing just popped i think they will fix it for free. but w/e it is its the install that was wrong b/c i did nothing but drive it nicley home.

Ahh I recall reading something about this in the "issues" section. This is due to them not bleading something right. I cant recall what it was. But C. Ray Hill knows this one.

Get under your clutch pedal. Check the connection at the pedal to cable. Sounds like the pin just came loose. Throw-out bearings don't just "pop". It's wrapped around a shaft and set into a pilot bearing.

ya i know but im getting a rattling noise inside my clutch housing so its not just a hydraulic hose or slave cylander. and when i was stopped talkn to the cop b4 i hit the stop sign the throw out bearing started squeeking i pushed in the clutch it stopped then drove off and at the stop sign the pedal went in and didnt come out. i got it to come out but ther is no pressure at all just a sloppyclutch pedal and it wont go into anygears and has this rattling sound inside the housing.

Sound like they just didn't get the install exactly right....I hope.
That happens from time to time, so hopefully it a quick fix. Don't pay for anything!

The cable connecting the clutch to the pedal. You press down on the clutch pedal, it disengages the clutch disc. There's a pin at that connection that tends to come loose when doing any type of clutch work.

Had this happen on an LT1 I used to own. Pedal dropped to the floor after a clutch install. It was nothing more than the linkage at the top of the clutch pedal.

What the hell do you think the clutch pedal does? You press down and it sends a wireless signal to the clutch? If there isn't a cable, then it's a mechanical linkage... which is going to be the same principle.

the pedal pushes a rod that operates a slave cylinder..
now yes the way it works is close to the same, but you sent him out to look for a cable that is not there..
why would you do that?
