My Fan Kept Running

Yesterday (92 degrees) I got home from work and just as I shut the car off the fan kicked on. This is the first time the fan has run with the car off. After about 10 minutes inside I came back out and the fan was still running. I went back in, got the keys and turned on the ignition. Just as I did this the fan shut off and stayed off.

Strange huh?

Perfectly normal, the car is just cooling itself off. Everyone's does it- they just seem to choose the oddest times to start it up. Mine's run for 10+ minutes before- I bet if you had just left it, it would have turned off in a minute or so.

Sigh,

How many times does this need to get posted for the word to get out.

Might as well just get rid of the search button. Nobody uses it anyway....

I don't have any problems with repeat posts. In fact, it's rather fun to annoy the netiquette ***** with them.

My question is - the fan seems awfully noisy for just a fan. It's gotta be circulating coolant. Does that mean we have an electric water pump too?

Ok, I'll bite.

Lemme see. /me goes to RX-8 Club Lobby. /me clicks on Search. /me types "fan running"
/me waits patiently for 5 seconds. /me sees list of 200 posts. /me skims through threads and counts 10 entries without looking hard.

/me "whew, that was intense 10 seconds. It took longer to type this post than to find those threads.
