Unhappy My dog damaged my '8

Yes... you read that correctly... My dog hurt my car. She chewed on it. Yes... I said chewed on it! WTF!??! A couple weeks ago my wife and I took the little kiddies to the company pic-nic and let the dogs roam the backyard and garage... Where my car sleeps. My car was covered, but that didn't stop that little bitch from breaking skin. Her teeth marks are on the front left side opening opening opposite the fog light. I'm not sure what she was thinking.

I'd post a picture, but I have this thing about taking pictures of my cars after I rolled one car, and another blew up after I took pictures of them. The only reason I can think this bad luck hit my ride is that my wife's relatives were out earlier this summer. They took pictures of my car to show their son-in-law who has a yellow MazdaSpeed Protege. I didn't know they took pictures of it until it was too late. I was at work that day. I saw the pictures when they asked me to burn a CD for them to free up their camera memory.

So... the way I see it: It's all my in-laws' fault. They made my dog chew on my car by taking a picture of it.

On the bright side (if you can call it that), I guess I can get the MazdaSpeed kit now. I originally didn't think I'd keep the car past its warranty, but I ended up really liking it so I guess I won't mind putting a bit of money into it to personalize it.

there is another person on the forum who had their dog 'body check' the car and leave a nice dent.

thank god it was the dog - i was afraid you were referring to a wife or girlfriend.

them ud be fightin words then!!!!!!!!!

sorry about the damage. me and the ex-hubby were out running around in our 1991 grand am gt back when it was brand new and came to a dead end road, had to turn in a person's driveway pretty much and their dog came out and bit our back bumper. It was pontiac plastic (of course) and it took the paint off and we had big teeth marks in it. funny as crap when I think back on it, but not at the time!!

:D

I can see it now... You pull up and make a U-turn when suddenly out of no where... some dog attacks the car thinking that it's some sort of monster staking claim to its territory. In an agry fit of rage he bites the bumper exposing bare plastic. It's like a movie :p

I did all I could to contain myself from roughing up my pooch. In the end, she didn't know any better (even if I think she should have). I'm sure I'll laugh about this too once I get it fixed and all, but for now it still stings a bit.

At least I put the free touch up paint to good use!

What kind of dog? I've had dogs that were insane to find birds and small animals. If you ever hit one or one took up residence under your hood the dog could have been looking for prey.

Reminds me of when we left our dog in my wife's civic (years ago) and she (the dog) decided that the parking brake handle and door locks would make excellent chew toys. I don't think my wife ever forgave the dog (even after we sold the car) but we did learn a lesson: Keep dogs away from the car. We now have a cage for her forester and the dogs only dream of touching the 8

We have two Vizslas... One is about two and a half years old, the other is about 8 months. It was the younger of the two that chewed.

:D Our neighbor had bought a new GX470 and left their lab puppy (about 50lbs at the time) in it. The dog chewed the leather wrapped steering wheel, gear shift lever, a few head rests, and some seat belts. Whoops.

i'd be pissed. my dog is a chewer. he eats everything, my laptop, a wireless access point, my shoes. my new shoes to replace the eaten ones. Power cords, hand tools, an entire bottle of iburpfren. 1000 tablets of vitamin c. you name it my dog has eaten it. if he ever bites my car that's it though.... the rest I can deal with. the car is my toy. no exceptions.

the original title was better, made more sense, and in the context the word bitch was appropriate. I have to say BOOO.

I wasn't mad about the title. I'm just dreaming up this story while the thread loaded of some guy not getting along too well with the little lady and she takes a baseball bat to the windshield or something to **** him off. I was shocked to see he was actually talking about a dog and, yes, bitch is an appropriate name for a female dog. Change the title back - it certainly got my attention!!!

Hmmm. Now the correct term for a female canine is considered profane? Man, but the English language is going into the toilet.

A friend of mine has one too - great fun to play with, and he doesn't chew on anything else than food
The funny thing is that the dog's name is 'Kolbász' which means 'sausage' in Hungarian :D

Kolbasz... :D

The elder is named: Reddog Ranch Penny Pincher
The younger is: Reddog Ranch Sienna Sausage

The older one doesn't chew either, I figure the younger one (that did the chewing) was being a punk and will grow out of the chewing.

Well, the full name is "Huncut Csabai Kolbász", which means "Perky Csabaer Sausage" (Csabai kolbász is actually a real sausage brand back in Hungary, hehe). Plus the owner's name is Csaba

That's too funny. That's a great name. The best thing about our youger one is that she ended up being a little plump like a sausage.

A few years ago my buddy picked up a pretty decent BMW 320i for about $500. The previous owner took his pit bull with him everywhere he went and it had just rat f*@&ed the interior.
As far as my car goes the mutt only rides in his crate, I have sport pkg.(cloth seats) so I'd swear I'm vacuming out fur for months after he's been in there.
