My cup heaters broken!

J/K

My cup holders are cold, and have always been cold. Never HOT or Warm.

I just felt like sharing this with all of you since I only hear about the hot ones. Anyone else cold too?

What? The center console has a lot of heat coming up to it from the exhaust pipes. Its not an option, its just a fact that the cup holders get warm after driving it awhile.

Is yours an 04? Drive around hard for about half an hour.

It's not really a big deal to me because I don't use the front cupholders to hold drinks, I use the rear. And there is a supposed "fix" for the heat that would add a layer of insulation under the console but from what I heard, it really does not help. No sense in having a mechanic tear up and scratching my car for a bad "fix". I will wait till more tests are done...on other people's cars

Mazda added insulation sometime before November 2003 to help.

I'm pretty sure mine has the insulation, they just get warm. Not quite great for cold drinks. But, since I don't drink in my car, I see no problem with this. :p

No, really. My car was built in Aug-03. It doesn't get warm, even after extended driving. I've kept many various thing in there (phone, wallet, sunglasses, pop) and they are not warmed up by bieng in there. Only if it's very hot in/out side the car and the e-brake handle becomes spagatti does it get hot in the console.

I'd take it back... What if you wanted to put coffee in there? How would it stay warm? :D

I guess you just got one of the gifted cars.

I'd sue for sure! How could Mazda have overlooked your cup warmer?!? After all we need them since our seat warmers don't get hot enough.

Well I know someone with a V6 Trans-am who's offered to trade me if I get too annoyed with it.

Yes it must be gifted and I am grateful.:D
But why couldn't it also be gifted with high MPG. It gets about the same as my 90 RX-7. Sometimes worse, like after my M-flash.

I don't see how anyone can use the front cupholder with a manual transmission -- I figured that's just there for AT owners.

My chapstick melts. My gum melts. My cell phone is too hot to put to my ear.
Hershey kisses (forget about it).
I am currently trying to funnel the 1500 degrees from my cup holder to my 25 degree seat warmer

If the dealer puts the updated pad..then lines the tunnel and bottom of the cupholder with foil...

Now thats the ticket.

I think it actually cools drinks after that.

Get it fixed under warranty since the "coffee warmers" aren't doing their job properly.
