I had the 5 week curse aswell.

After 5 weeks I found a good and nicely sized ding on my back drivers side door with white paint on it.

Then someone else thought it'd be a great idea to back into me. Then Mazda said they had reason to believe it was my fault and wouldn't pay for that plastic part to be replaced (The one afore mentioned in this thread), The right side part of it that housed the tip got cracked at the top. Took 50 dollars to replace, so whatever.

+1 for not trying to do favors for strangers. that's just asking to get screwed. & someone in a benz? fuhgetaboutit!! anyone asking for that favor has prlly either pulled the ole screw you on someone b4, is just a chitty driver w/lots of similar "accidents" already, or maybe even doing something illegal so they don't want the cops to check them out (like suspended license, no insurance, etc.)


like machi said - you shouldn't have to deal w/the potential hassles cause she can't drive.

but GL - I hope she does come thru w/o any BS for you.

dont ever leave without a police report. i was found at fault for an accident that i didnt cause. the other guy was such a *****, "dont worry, just exchange info and lets be on our way." .. ugh. luckily that was a lebaron and not my 8.

however.. my 8 fell to the curse as well. my front right wheel fender was swiped within a few weeks of having it.

 

Nice!!! Now dont get me wrong, my background was Bodyshop repairs. Howzs the paint job holding up? Peeling? I never seen a factory, textured, "OLD" plastic
bumper hold up even with the best preping using the best adesion promoters. My guess would be you never used armor-all or any type of silcone products on the lower portion of your bumper.
