MoTeC
I have been emailing different companies seeking what they wish to do with the future RX8, here is the reply from MoTeC:
Hello Shaun,
Thank you for your interest in MoTeC Electronic Systems.
MoTeC has and will continue to be able to provide engine management systems that are compatible with the rotary engines. As far as we know the RX8 will be a 2 rotor engine which we can control with any of our ECU’s like the old rotary depending on the ignition sequencing you want. As far as a drop in replacement or some other hardware which is designed specifically for the RX8, we are not planning anything currently.
I would invite you to have a look at our website to see what we currently offer at www.motec.com/control.htm
Regards,
Shane Tecklenburg

Sounds good to me....interesting to see what will be compatible from the FD's and 13b's. Note that currently is a key word.

I think it would be way cooler to have the Motec ADL (advanced data logger).. though i think that alone costs like 4k and I'm not sure if you need their ecu as well..

Have you guys tried contacting MoTeC here in Australia where the stuff is actually built? www.motec.com.au
I know that there is a guy out here who is saying that he will be running an RX-8 in our GTP Racing (basically howroom std cars) here next year, and almost all of the cars run a MoTeC ECU, so somebody at MoTeC Australia might know a little more about it.
I can see no reason why it wouldn't be able to run the engine though in any case. It really is one of the BEST ECU's money can buy.
You might also want to price getting the unit direct from Australia, due to your stronger dollar and avoid the middle man. Might add up to a few dollars saved.
