Get your money back and go elsewhere. You'll find another one that holds your heart the same way

someones head should roll, someone messed up and someone should pay. The dealer should have checked if the car was legit before putting it on the lot. Fight for some equal to yours both in value and package.

Yeah I just decarbed my car.. did a coolant flush, got an intake (I JUST installed it. ><), did a few other things to it as well. I've put a lot into it. I paid 10,500 for my car, they're willing to sell the spot to me for 8,000 I believe. I talked to the bank and they said they would transfer everything over for me and get me into the other one. They said they'll refund my payment as well. Since the new car will be cheaper, my payments will go down as well. My plan is to go into the new car and use it to gain credit to get into one I want down the road. It sucks.. my car was everything I wanted.. but I'll make due until I can get one I want.

I also talked to the dealer about stripping the car and swapping some of the parts well as the exhaust (mine had a GReddy on it when I bought it). He said it shouldn't be an issue as long as I do the work. He'll find out tomorrow. We'll see what happens. lol I love my exhaust note and I love my interior... so we'll see if we can work something out. Does the leather interior fit right in where the cloth interior sits? And what about the wiring harness for the driver seat... is there a way I can wire that into the sport? He said I could swap the interiors if I knew how to do it. We'll see.

Why can't you tell the dealership to find you a near-exact replacement..? There's tons of em for sale..

Leather interior and cloth interior is swappable, as far as I know. Wiring harness for heated seats/power seats? I'm not sure if that's easily swapped. I know that both the Sport and the GT come with heat switches and heat wiring, but I don't know if the seat itself supports heat.

Swap the parts over, get it for cheaper, save the 2k there for the future when you find one the one you want. At 8000, it won't depreciate to much less than that in the future anyways, so you may end up coming out even. It's just patience at this point, and ending up with good credit will be very helpful

Good luck sir!

I did the cloth to leather power/heated interior swap, and it was all plug and play. All you need to do is swap parts, there is no custom wiring. This was on an early build 04.

I say pick one of these options
1. Get a refund and find one you want
2. Get the dealer to find one that is comparable
3. If you really can't do 1 or 2 then tell the dealership they need to do less than 8000 on the sport because it's NOT what you want + they are putting you through all this hassle.

That sucks man! In my opinion I would get the grey one and with cheaper payment you can get it the way you wanted, it might take some time but at the end you might fall in love again. Good luck!!!

Yeah I figure it'll work out in the end. We are losing the sunroof >< and due to time constraints we really don't have the ability to look around, so the grey one's our best bet. They wanted to sell the grey one to me for 9 and I threw a fit and worked them down to 8. They agreed to let me swap everything I wanted into the grey one, since the red one's probably going to disappear into oblivion anyway. We settled on a date, Monday we take it to get everything swapped out and take the red one back. The transmission started whining today, and now I'm getting a really bad power loss at 7k. Maybe it's a blessing in disguise?

*shrug* You never know.

my dad had a small dealership once. He bought a truck and the auction called him 2 weeks later and bought it back from him because they made a mistake, the truck was sold a week prior to him buyng it (auctioned twice). They payed him more money for the truck so it wasnt just a return. Dealer buy cars from auctions, we see the managers bidding there all the time. I imagine this is what happened with your 8.

Yeah if the dealer's cool enough to let you rob parts to your heart's content, I'd go with it. At least that shows they actually have some feeling for your situation. Does suck to get attached and then forced to give it up though. But I think it will work out great in the long run.

if they'll let you swap all the parts you want, then 8k on the sport isn't bad. Take everything of value though, the 18" wheels, hid lights, fogs (if it has em) and whatever else you want. Suck situation, but when life gives you lemons you paint that **** gold.

I love the lemons analogy. XD We're going to swap everything we can. Do the headlights swap straight over? I love my HIDs. :/ We're doing it on monday so I'm trying to learn as much as I can.
