mirror defroster

My rx-8 is 2004 touring package. I am not sure my 8 has a mirror defroster.
Plz let me know about it.
If not, is there any way to install it?
Thanks.

I thought it was a standard feature, but I haven't found the answer in my mazda book yet. I will check the manuel for you.

EDIT: Ok, I am not much help. I know it is on the Grand Touring package, but not sure about the Touring Package. Turn on your rear window defroster and see it your mirrors defrost, if you have it, it will automatically come on when the rear window defroster is turned on. (Sorry that is the best I can do!) :p

The mirror defrosters are an option on the Grand Touring package according to the vehicle specs. Dunno if you can retrofit it, but I should think there would be a way.

Standard with Grand Touring model, not available on other models. I think it's possible to retrofit it providing you can find the parts and work out the wirings for it.

There is a way to install anything if you're determined enough. Hell, I retrofitted my BMW with front/rear PDC a couple years ago. (My model year BMW didn't have front/rear PDC as an option, but later models on the same chassis did.)

Side mirror defrost means getting the appropriate mirrors (~$25 each) and figuring out the wiring harness. The latter is the tricky part and will require a shop manual and probably electrical wiring guide.
