Metal under black B-pillar on front doors
What is it? Is it aluminum? The black "stuff" (I don't know if it's really paint) got scratched off in a small spot down to the metal. I figured if it's aluminum, I'd just leave it but if it's steel, I suppose I ought to prime and paint it to prevent rust. Anyone know?
I also got my first door ding/dent a few days ago :tear: It's on the passenger door so at least I won't see it every day. And after 2 1/2 years and 33,000 miles, only one door ding isn't too bad.* But it's always hard. * I should point out I had to have the whole rear bumper repainted because someone scratched the hell out of it not long after I got it. Yes, the car is silver. But it now looks good as new. |
Front doors are steel the back doors aluminum. You should paint the scratch to prevent rust. OR buy these:

The black stuff is a sticker. If you take it off the car will be silver.

Steel....
Valguy is right, the door is steel, so it's either silver paint or scratched steel - so it needs painting black.
Maybe time for some B pillar covers. S |
well, the b-pillar is just a sticker vinyl like Razz stated. but if you went past that and etched through the silver paint then you should look into some b-pillar appliques.
