mazdaspeed update!

The new Road & Track is out, with a hands on of the mazdaspeed 8...10 more HP, and a whole lot of chassis work. R&D hint that a turbo or supercharged version is in the works...for 2005, when the car goes on sale here. M&T also hint about a supercharged version.....hmmmmmmm

Do both! Buy one now, and then buy a second one when 05s come out. That's my plan to build an RX-8 collection.

No doubt ... the Mazdaspeed will come here... in 2005 or 2006... without a doubt... but it will be limited production.. like the miata... and all the other ones they created.

Sounds like another big rumour thread without any real proof. In Japan at least the Mazdaspeed was limited to 300 cars, asfaik. To make it more confusing: How about europe? We have these castrated engines to match Euro 4 emissions etc.

Im sure they use the 300 sold Mazdaspeed 8s as testing in Japan by customer before they sell it anywhere else, new sparkplugs also according to www.mazda.com

Will those with the regular 8s, be able to buy and install these factory turbos or SC and still be under warranty?

How does it work for people with non MPS cars then an MPS car comes out and they want to upgrade theirs? Miata owners, Protege?..........

But the MP3 came out in the US before it came to Japan as the Mazdaspeed Familia (Familia= Protege). So it's not necessarily like that...

IN a past car mag... Car and Driver or Motor Trend... they said that Mazda had a hard time with emissions... particularly exhaust temp was too cold after installing a turbo for the catalytic converter to work. Because of that there is no turbo on the Renesis. There is the possiblity that they develop a solution, however... chances look slim for a turbo. I'd put m money on a supercharger.

Last time I lurked around the mazdaspeed webpage if found that they sold in a kit everything needed to turbocharge the protege. However, don't expect your warranty to be worth much after you do it.
