I'm looking to buy an RX8 - either a new 2007 or slightly used 06.

I'd like to mildlymod the car - no FI. Just a cat back, drop in filter, springs, sway bars, strut bars. That's it. *maybe a flywheel*

I notice that if I buy the Mazdaspeed parts that most of them are "blue" meaning they don't impact the rest of the car's warranty and they get their own 12 mo / 12k mile warranty.

I noticed teh mazdapseed exhaust is "orange" which basically says it's "as is" and if anything happens to it or other parts due to the exhaust, they will void the warranty.

now assume you buy a MS exhaust...and later have your motor blow up or some other motor issue. I know. and you all know, that no cat back exhaust will cause a motor to blow up... but that wouldnt' necessarily stop some regional field rep from saying "oh no.you have an exhaust...so that did it..so your warranty claim is denied"...

have any of you had MS exhausts or any other "orange" level parts and then got the shaft from mazda??

I like the idea of sticking with MS parts...since they come from mazda..and you would think that given the fact that it won't void the warranty (for blue/green) items... that would be a nice way to go when the car is new and still under the factory warranty... but i don't want to add a MS cat back if I'm going to gegt hosed by Mazda..

anyone with experience on this?
