Mazda went a little far...
http://autos.yahoo.com/articles/auto...-cars-of-2010/
Wtf.. I was so surprised to see them talk about the Rx8 on ugliest cars.
""I think Mazda went a little bit far in their styling," he says. "They're putting in these very swoopy lines with a lot of character into the sheet metal ... I'm not sure that it has really connected with the public."
hope this isnt a repost, sorry if it is.

Wow thats absurd. The fact that they chose a weird picture angle and an 8 without a spoiler doesn't help its case, but it still looks better than 90% of cars on the road... What is the world coming to?
By the way is that even a picture of a 2010 rx8? Can you say, not credible?

I bet the author of that article thinks a chevy pick up or an impala is a beautiful looking car.......
"But a car like the Ford Taurus, which launched to a slow start in the 1980s, gradually improved in look and quality and eventually became a solid seller"
Wow, by his way of evaluating looks on cars then a ferrari is ugly as ****, because sales drop off right after a new model comes out.....

I don't think McElroy was even talking about the RX-8, he was talking about swoopy lines in the sheet metal. He was talking about the Nagare concepts then the author of the article just said mazda "sells odd-looking cars like the RX8," and attached the other quotes to it. Not to mention it says uglies cars of 2010, but it shows a 2004 RX-8.

This is hilarious. With a small spoiler, I think the RX-8 is one of the most gorgeous production cars in a long while, with the R3 being among the top most gorgeous cars out right now in my opinion. I regularly walk up to my '09 Sport and think it's beautiful. It makes me feel better about not buying an Evo or another more powerful car, all of which are generally significantly uglier really.

The rx-8 is what made me a car enthusiast. Because of the 8, i found the beauty in other cars like the fc, fd, 240s r30s ect. The rx-8 does have a unique design, but it is no way ugly. An rx-8 is like fine wine. If you don't know how to drink you won't know the true flavor.

... No mention at all of the Pontiac Aztec....
This is why you don't let a financial magazine that drives the same style and color (Black or some shade of silver) of luxury sedan rate cars on appearance.
xB, Cube, and Element are not targeted at the readers of Forbes... so its alright to confuse some different styling with being ugly. And by alright I mean "safe".

There are plenty of ugly *** cars on the road the 8 is not one of them. Why not focus their attention on deserving cars like the KIA Soul, Nisssan Cube, Scion XB, Chevy Cobalt, and any Suzuki..... You get my point!

I guess it's ugly to a guy who probably makes half million a year.. but for me, i think the 8 = tail more than any of my friends' cars, that's FOR SURE. definitely no civic, truck, or WRX STI for that matter gets girls creamin' as much as an 8.
oh, and he's comparing the Pt cruiser's sales to the rx8?? hahaha... c'mon. I dont see pt cruiser meetings around town. I think he should focus on other cars with bad stylinf... like honda element, or honda ridgeline. Whoops, those are both honda? my bad.

On the other hand, I don't give much importance to people who think my 8 is inferior in the looks department. I'm used to choosing vehicles which are unique and which suit my personality. I also get people who even think I'm an odd looking character, so I really couldn't care less of what they think of the car I chose lol.
