Hey guys,

So I'm bringing in the 8 to the dealership next week to get an answer for why my car is losing power in the high rpms. I was hoping they would do a free compression test for me under warranty, but the service dept. said "I don't think that's covered. You'll have to book it in and it will be less than $125 to do a diagnosis"
So the problem with my car is now when it starts to hit the high rpms around 7K it starts to get really jerky and fight back. It also sometimes has problems turning over when the engines hot. Turns over fine whenever its still cold.
Also I been getting a CEL thats turns on and off usually once a day and the code calls for the rear O2 sensor, but from what Ive heard thats no big deal, so I have been in no rush to replace it.

Do you guys have any advice as to how to deal with the dealership? Anything i can do to keep from getting screwed over? Any other advice?

u better change your plugs, coils, and wires before you even go in, so they "can't" blame it on those items.

it sounds like you either have a clogged up CAT or your engine going south. Either way if you're under 8 yrs 80K(engine 100K) you are covered.

as for "compression test", if your engine fails compression test it will be covered, if not, you gotta pay.

 

Also try running a can of BG44K through the gas tank

 

How many miles on the car

 

Any mods done to the engine? If yes, you should take it out and put back the oem parts back. The dealer will always blame it on aftermarket modifications and such.

 

88,000 Km on the car. Borla exhaust is the only aftermarket. Does anyone know the cost of replacing plugs coils and wires?
