Thumbs up Mazda Steps up to the plate - Thumbs Up

I am one of the Las Vegas residents who had their vehicle in the shop for over 40 days. (Engine Replacement). I wrote a letter to MNAO as it states to do in the manual, being sure to write down names and times of whomever I spoke with and asked if they would give me a 100K bumper to bumper warranty. Today I got a phone call from the Mazda North America office and they are going to extend the warranty to 100K. I am VERY pleased with how they handled this whole situation, including everyone I dealt with at the Dealership. Needless to say I look forward to many more years of happy motoring in my RX-8.

Kudos to Mazda for stepping up and taking care of a customer.

Wow, that's great! hopefully the dealers don't just try to void your warranty to cover up for it.

*knock on wood*

They're making out in their eyes, if they say no and you persue the issue you're getting a new car and yours is declared a lemon.

Is it possible to ask for an extended warranty? What would be the cost?

My warning lights are getting ridiculous. I've only had the car for 3 months and I've had two check engine lights and now my car is at the dealership getting rid of the airbag light. My passenger sun visor is also tearing apart.

thats some great news . there are some dealerships that want to sell you the car but beyond that its a nightmare......and really your only recourse available is to go straight to the top in order to be heard. good for you.....

I would recommend that anyone who has been through this situation ask the same. Do not shout and demand, my letter was very pleasant. I thanked them for the way they had treated me up to now, but stated that I had lost confidence in the reliablity of the car since they could not tell me the reason so many engines had been replaced. Thanks for the members on this site who pointed me in the right direction, I cannot believe how useful this site has been.
