Mazda Safety Question!

Ok, if you have RX8 and if somebody hits you at the back won't the 2 doors get like smashed in each other since there are no pillares. If they get smashed, how would u get out of the car? And in some cases, if it was even on fire?

The doors ARE braced, the closure forms a virtual pillar that has been crash tested and proved excellent. Also, the floor of the car is massively braced too which would prevent the outcome you describe.

There are B-pillars, but they are built into the leading edge of the rear doors. The chances of them being crumpled to the point of non-operation are no different than that of conventional doors. Moreover, the latch is farther from the impact area.

However, I do worry about the rear doors' reliance on the front doors in opening: should the front become inoperative, how would one open the rear?

Same thing you would do in a regular coupe, break the glass.

I was in an accident a few years ago that bent the frame of the car to the point that both doors were sealed. I just kicked the passenger door 3-4x around the latch area until it busted open. I knew it was a pretty bad accident because my car spun across 3 lanes, over a side walk, into a glass bus stop. I'll post a pic later of the car :D
