For fear of sounding repetitious, I also received an email. FYI I ordered on 1/24/03. I did make one change to the color on 2/4/03 = Changed to Velocity Rec w/ Black & Red leather.

Finally, I can rest assured my order was properly placed after quite a few attempts to get a true confirmation from the dealership.

 

Got mine yesterday :D

Called dealer and he still says that computer shows production week 1 of April and Delivery in May. I am still being hopeful that June delivery is achieved.

praying for the low end of the "1-3 month VIN assignment/begin production" e-mail of course.

Got mine and I was in the second allocation with nav.

2nd Allocation, no nav... got it this morning... YEAH!!!!

 

no apparently it is forbidden to give anyone in oregon any satisfaction. no email follow ups, no cars drive around for us to catch a glimpse of and no "rev it up" with special invites to drive the rx8.

i am happy for all of you though

 

Damn man... I feel bad for you...

(Not that everyone else is getting such great attention either...)

 

now if i could only get that kind of sympathy from someone at mazda that could actually fix the problem.

Finally, it's here. It showed up last night. Now I can sleep better at nights......

 

For those who received their emails, did any of your orders get submitted by the dealer in February?

My dealer claims my order went out on 2/17 but I doubt he included my email address and I haven't received an email yet ...

 

Well, my "supposed" order was placed on January 10. According to Ashley at Mazda USA :o

 

Here were my ordering dilemmas:

I placed my order on 1/8/03 @ 11:00 PM.

Received an email the next day, that they would put my on a wait list.

Placed another order with a different dealer on 1/10/03:

Received an email, the next day, they had no idea what I was talking about.

Called a dealer on 1/12/03. They said no problem, and they would call me back because they needed to talk to their General Manager re: the details. After a week and a few emails, I gave up.

Called a dealer (Stockton Mazda), now it's 1/19/03. He says, he knows of the program, and will get my preorder going.

For some reason, it couldn't get in the computer until 1/28/03. But, I am not faulting him. He is the only one who could get it done, and has been great in keeping me informed.

But for some reason, the order went in on 1/28/03, but Mazda didn't confirm it until 2/13/03.

I got my confirmation from Mazda when everyone got their's: 3/19/03.
