Mazda RX-8 *is* eligible for Graduation Rebate of $500!

I just got off the phone with Mazda USA's customer service center (1-800-222-5500 if you'd like to verify).

The 2004 Mazda RX-8 will be eligible for a $500 Customer Cash back incentive as a College Grad rebate.

This program details:
For students enrolled in a 4 year accredited college or university, Junior and Seniors can be within 2 years of graduation to qualify for this program.

Or if you have graduated within the last two years from one of the following: accredited junior or community college with an associates degree, an accredited college or university with a bachelors degree, an accredited nursing school with a bachelors in nursing degree, an accredited graduate school with a masters degree, doctorate degree or are currently enrolled in graduate school.

So to those of you who qualify, enjoy your $500 off! I will be using mine for accessories like all-weather mats, door sill protectors, front and rear polished rotary symbols and perhaps a few interior upgrades.

Cheers everybody!

You will need a note from the school's registrar's office if you're still in school, or a copy of your degree and graduation date if you're out.

I'm pretty sure that on a RX forum is refered to as the Rex. Besides, the RX7 "rex" has been along longer than the WRX.

I will be buying the car June 1st 2004 and I graduated June 10th 2000! I'm JUST on time!

Heck if it wasn't for the students loans I could pay cash for the car!

I thought that it was within 2 years! I graduated from Med school May of 2002 and I was a little bummed when you originally said it was 1 yr. But thanks for the update. $500 isn't much but it is better than nothing.

umm hate to bust your bubble but it's only good for 2 years after graduation which makes you 2 years out of bounds. i thought this discount applied to every mazda car though?
