Mystery solved guys. About 2 hours after getting duplicate "509" VIN number messages I got one marked CORRECTION in the title, and a VIN nuimber ending in 101897.

So now I am wondering two things: 1) how long from VIN notificatin to arrival? and 2) Just how many cars are on that boat?

not sure how many cars on the boat but from my understanding it takes 7-10 days from japan to the states, then 7-10 days for customs and port work. then just deliver in a few days. not positive they may hold them longer, who knows. also i noticed just because you have a vin doesnt mean your car is in transit. it depends on the build date. anything built on or before 5/28 is "in transit"

I've noticed 5 or 6 different Port Entries listed on the VIN #'s being checked by ibfubar2000, i.e CA, FL, TX, NJ & WA to name a few.

Does this mean there are several boats, one going to each location?

I think some are ship ports and other are truck ports. Like mine...

POE PH - PORT HUENEME, CA. IP DA - PORT MIDLOTHIAN, TX.

The first being the port of entry (POE) and IP being the trucking port/distribution center. Don't know what IP stands for, internal port?

Unfortunetly I don't think your car made it. My car was built on 5/29 and has a vin number ending in 1850. Your in the same boat I am which to say your car was sitting very near mine when the ship left. I could be wrong since you are on the west coast. You may have made that boat if it left a day or two later.

Good Luck. Call your dealer and have them pull the status off their order screen, it may say On Water.
