Mazda Again, Again

so i put my car on the parkinlot last saturday beacuse of the snow storm we had in NY. come tuesday, the guy at my lot tells me my car dont start in my head i said: here we go...., i had to work so i waited until later on that week to check it. true enough the car wont start, i called mazda, they send someone to jump start the car, nothing.
the weekend is here were i finally got a day off i called mazda so they can send AAA and pick it up, that was at 4 Pm on sunday. after 2 times dealin with the wrong tow truck they tell me the flat bed would be there in 90 mins. after 2 hours i call back and they said he is 15 mins away. 45 mins later i called mazda again at this time is 9:30. the guy on the phone said the tow truck was 5 mins away, and that i have to brong my car down so they can take it,( it was and indoor garage on the second floor), im still cool after 5:30 hours of dealin with them. but the guy never shows up at 10:50 pm i decide to leave and with my two brothers help i push back the car up the hill into the garage again. i slip fall and my shoulder pops out again. Now im furious cause my should havent come out in almost 1 year and im there holdin my harm while my brothers try to put it back in place. after 20 mins of massive pain, my arm is back in place they push the car up and ended the night.

Chapter 2

after not being able to sleep beacuse of my shoulder, i called mazda at 9:00am and go thru the story with them, they tell ok we sorry blah blah, and the tow truck would be there in 1 hour. i look like i have a baseball inside my left shoulder but i figure F!@#$ it. i tell them look just make sure its a FLAT BED, i have an RX8 and you cant tow my car on a reg truck, i have a bodykit. sure enough i go to the lot wait for them..... same regular tow truck. i called back, im pissed off and in pain, i cannot even move my shoulder one bit. they said the flat bed is on his way and that he be there in 30 mins. that was at 10:30 am. i been on the phone at least 5 times and spoke to the manager 3 times. they finally get here and take the car. its 3:35 pm and i came home just to see if i feel better by writing in the forums. now im heading to the Hospital to see if i messed up my shoulder even more, i dont know about you guys but i truly have developed a new feelin for Mazda, its not hate, because it waaaay passed that. i got to find a new name for it. when i do i let you know. anyways i hope this is just a flood issue and my car be back on the road by wednesday.

Unhappy Wow

Sorry to hear of your troubles. I guess you shouldv'e told the garage not to move it - they often move cars around several times in the course of a weekend. Hope your shoulder pain still allows you to drive a stick !

i dont have an issue with mazda, but i really think our cars are far too expensive to have this kind of bullshit service. i see the way Honda and Toyota treat people that buy 15,000 dollars pieces of **** and we pay 35-45 and have the most bullshit service i ever seen.

as of my shoulder they gave me a shot and some 800mm pills, looks like my shoulder didnt go back to the right way after i put it. so now is straight, the one thing im gettin mad just thinking about is Mazda makin some bullshit about not covering under warranty. cause this time the car was dead, without no one drivin it.

It sounds like Mazda is BS'in you. You are right, some of these dealers should be a little more respectful/courteous if they expect repeat customers. At these prices customers shoul be pampered.

Hope your shoulder gets better--that sounds painfull...

Maybe this is the wrong approach to take, but after you've made many accomodations for their craptacular service I might go into their sales department and ask them if the kind of customer service you recieved from their service dept is what people can expect in the future. Tell them you're interested so that you can inform people on the massive forum of potential buyers which dealers to avoid. Sales people seem like they might understand the concept of reputation. Maybe this is an *** thing to do and maybe it wouldn't really work, but who knows. Some people think the Internet is this big deal and might do something about it. I certainly would go out of my way to not deal with that dealership after hearing the crap you went through especially if they didn't try and rectify the problem if you confronted their customer service dept.

if its just flooding then you will have it back in no time. btw, what happens if it floods after the waranty is up? is the dealership still liable to fix it?

I hear you Knight I have had the same shoulder problem for four years. Literally every football game It dislocated. The pain is unbearable, It would dislocate and slide down into my armpit, they'd pull it out I'd be back in two plays later. Sorry to hear about your situation, good luck in the future hopefully it will serve you better in the future.

Ok so this was the latest from Mazzda, my starter is gone. so far, they backed up in order so its goin to take from 2 days to 2 weeks, also my car is some where in Jersey like i said. they get me the rental and they cover up to 30 dollars per day, In my head is what am i supposed to get ?? A BIke? but w/e i go to enterprise and they have me a corolla which is a piece of ****. and i still got to pay the difference in price cause is not 30 a day. so i figure if im gonna pay i want another car not this piece of junk. they have a chrysler 300, so i asked can i have that one and i pay the difference. enterprice tells me no, when i ask Why they said im under 25 years old and i cant have a car taht cost that much. jajajajajaja. the first thing i tought was damn i can imagine polak gettin a rental here then. cause i didnt see one bicycle no where. w/e im here pissed off with a bullshit corolla cause i can afford to pay 40,000 on my car but i cant have a bullshit chrysler rental. i truly hate Mazda right now i cant stand this F@#$ company.

I hear you, i went through a similar situation in 94 with my 7 but it was more like once a month. the only reason i went back with Mazda is the rotary. If another company made a rotary vehicle comparable to the rx8 i would go with them. Its like they have no love after you spend 30k plus for a car. baaad service all the time!

wait... you brought your car in for service and they are charging you for the rental car? that's Bullcrap!!!

they should have given you a rental car without charge. the Stealership that i went to up here gve me a rental for warranty work.. but i guess that is why they are charging you? because the do not know if it is covered under warranty or not right ??

Mazda Service Sucks

Went to dealer to Get oil change and some idiot scratches my right fender like 1/2 inch, service dept rep said it was there and i proved them wrong with service log when vechile was brought in. Its currently in the body shop getting repainted and touched up. I was so mad when they gave me 03 protege with no Power windows, no cd player only tape player and radio. I called mazda HQ they gave me bs that dealer decides what to give and that they can afford to give us decent rental or loaner car. I went back to dealer and spoke to the owner of dealership and got a mazda 6 2005 as loaner car. It just pissed me off how i got treated like **** after cashing out 36k for an rx-8, this last time i purchase Mazda.

the repair is covered under warranty, thats the only reason i have the rental they dont give you one unless they see is not your fault. and they cover only up to 30 dollars per day on rental so whatever the difference is comes out your pocket. for 30 dollars a day i cant even get a bicycle, BTW my car came up to 46,000 after everything i couldve gotten any other car but stoopid me got the mazda.

Honestly, from my experience so far...

The car is great. The dealerships REALLY leave something to be desired.

This is pretty much why I do think it's worth going for an Infiniti, Lexus, BMW, or Mercedes. Stories about bad service from those dealerships are few and inbetween compared to stories of people getting incredible service. On the other hand, stories of Mazda dealers providing horrible service far outnumber stories of people being happy with Mazda service.

It's all about the dealerships though. If I were you I would complain to Mazda North America. They need to make a change. The main reason I'm considering not keeping my car is Mazda service. Other than that I love my car.

Even luxury car manuf. treat you like crap. I used to have an Audi and they had the worst service ever! At least they would give me an A6 as a loaner but they would tell me my car is ready, I would drive down there and it was still in the shop. Took days to get an answer, never called me back.

I finally got rid of the car because it had a lot of little problems and I just couldn't stand bringing it into the dealer anymore.

holy **** dude.. That's really messed up! You should definitley be on the phone with mazda asking wtf is up with that. And they're not even covering the whole cost of the rental! that's absolute BS !!!!

It really sucks your 8 hasn't treated you very well you got it 18months ago so that would have been around june/july '04 right? That's when I picked up mine and there has been some minor problems but nothing really mechanical (just annoying **** like squeaky brakes, day time headlights burning out). But your starter shouldn't take 2 weeks to fix! that's crap. My car was flooded by my father and they had my car back within a few days. If they can't source a starter from a warehouse they should grab it from another dealership.

Man, I really feel for you - it sounds like you're really getting jerked around - not so much about the type of loaner car since it is just a temp situation but about the quality of service in general from your Mazda dealer. I am also a longtime owner of both an Infiniti Q45 and Lexus LX470 and am completely satisfied with the service I've gotten from my dealers with these (at least so far, knock on wood). While I just got my RX-8 in Jan 2006 and my experience with my Mazda dealer is extremely limited, I have absolutely no complaints so far (again, knock on wood).

I do think there is a direct correlation between luxury car dealers and the service you receive. I guess my point is that, paying a lot of money for a car does not make the manufacturer a luxury car dealer (e.g., I paid a lot less for both my other cars than you did for your RX-8). I totally agree with playdoh43 quote above - how in the world did you pay $46K for an RX-8!?! My RX-8 is pretty bare bones since I'm too tall and couldn't get the moonroof (along with all the other options that go with it). Nonetheless, there were 126 RX-8s in the Wash metro area when I bought mine and so I was able to get it for invoice price minus $3K in manuf rebates - which translated to $25.6K out the door with title, taxes, and tags.

Given the service you've been getting in your neck of the woods, I suggest shopping at a real luxury car dealer in the future. Oh, and please take my comments as the constructive suggestions I meant them to be.
