Great story, but yeah you should have left the snake alone. He would have left the area once all the rats were gone or eaten. Catch and release them in a near by field next time.

LOL great story man! I had a mouse problem, too... every night it got under the hood and did it's business all over the engine cover. I set up 12 traps all around the car loaded with peanut butter (even one on the engine cover!) but that little smart *** didn't bite. Eventually I had to start parking my car outside. After a couple weeks, the problem was gone. No more mouse mess! But it's getting cold again... I have a feeling that mouse is going to come back.

Ouch! Man, I went out this morning to get some stuff in the yard taken care of, and there was a chipmunk in my garage. freaked me out seeing your mouse picture, so I grabbed my rake and chased it out! (not that it would have gotten in my car anyway)

my god this is nasty. I'm freaked about animals in cars now. I don't want my cabin air filter full of rat's nest. I'm going to check my air filter tomorrow... we can get to it through the glove box, then?

My brother has a couple cars and campers that he stores in his barn in winter and had problems with mice. He has started using dryer sheets in and around the vehicles, the mice don't like the smell so they stay away. They smell a whole lot better than mothballs and it actually works.
